Hi Guys,

The final of the pre-season competition is being played on Saturday and it sees Port Adelaide ($1.75) meeting Richmond ($2.05).

With the match being played at Colonial Stadium in Melbourne the betting is fairly even which is slightly disappointing when I am looking to hedge my futures bet on Port Adelaide.

My current bets are:
1 unit on Hawthorn @ $8.00 LOST
1 unit on Port Adelaide @ $7.50

I am going to add:
2 units on Richmond +6.5 @ $1.91

Worst case scenario is Richmond win and I will break even
Likely scenario is Port Adelaide win and I make 3.5 units
Hopeful scenario is Port Adelaide win by less than 6 pts and I make 7.3 units

My gut feeling is that Port Adelaide will prove too classy for Richmond but it is the pre-season and some strange things can happen.

Nice way to start the AFL year with my pre season futures bet getting home. Was nearly a perfect outcome (I was looking for Port Adelaide to win by less than 6 pts) but not quite.

An expected win Cartman88 and I suspect Port will bite into the top 3 come the end of the season.
Those late "cheap" goals from Richmond cost me my Over 15.5pts bet on Port Adelaide.......Doh!!! Though I am still alive in my Port / Sharks (ARL)/ Crusaders treble at 6's.

In 2 weeks when my Kangaroos travel to Port Adelaide for Round 1...go with Port Over 39.5pts......It's going to take some time to get over the Carey debacle :nooo:
