Hi Guys,

We are planning a 5 week trip to the US in Oct/Nov (our first trip to the US) ? we are about to book our accommodation and rather than just take the advice of our travel agent I was hoping to get some advice/suggestions from anyone that might live locally or have any recommendations from their own experiences.

We are happy paying up to $200 per night which we would hope would give us somewhere fairly nice in most places.

At this stage our plans are:

3 nights in LA ? Thu 6 Oct to Sat 8 Oct
We will probably do the usual Disney Land and Universal Studios thing ? is it better to stay somewhere near Anaheim or would be better off staying in central LA ? any suggestions on where to stay ??

4 nights in San Diego ? Sun 9 Oct to Wed 12 Oct
We were considering The Dana on Mission Bay ? have heard that one part of the resort is really nice and one part is absolute crap ? anyone stayed there or have any other suggestions on where to stay ??
We will have a rental car in San Diego so staying somewhere really central may not be important.

7 nights in Las Vegas ? Fri 14 Oct to Thu 20 Oct
We are really keen on Aladdin and have only ever heard good things from people that have stayed there ? any reason not to stay there ??

4 nights in Orlando ? Fri 21 Oct to Mon 24 Oct
We are planning a few days at Disney World so figured it might be easier for us to stay at Disney Resort ? good or bad idea ??

1 night in Fort Lauderdale ? Tue 25 Oct
Open to any suggestions ? only going here as the cruise we have booked leaves out of Fort Lauderdale ? so probably somewhere close to the port would be good.

2 nights in Miami ? Sat 5 Nov and Sun 6 Nov
Open to any suggestions here as well ? haven?t had a decent look at what there is to do in Miami yet.

Other thing we would love to do is catch an NFL game while we are in the US ? still waiting for the full NFL schedule to come out but hoping we might be in the right place at the right time to catch a San Diego or Tampa Bay or Miami game. How easy or hard is it to get hold of tickets for these games ??

Thanks in advance for any comments.

check www hotels.com for accomodations at a cheaper price...i always go through them when i go to vegas, but you can get a some good deals for nice hotels at other cities.....

If I may, Animal Kingdom Lodge with Savannah View. Whatever you do, stay on site.

Hope you have a great trip. Looks like it's gonna be incredible.

A first trip to the States shouldn't be limited to the Left Coast, the Right Coast with a stop over in Sin City.
