Agent Have seen you ask about amounts of units wagered twice--and I believe that to personal to many--but since you are new here I will give my gist of things and what you might consider. Without knowing your finances and assuming you are new to golf wagering I would suggest you wager smaller amounts on different matches rather than load the wagon on a few--it keeps ole Murphy at bay.My approach is what I call walmart approach---I wager modestly but in quantity.
Many times having same wager at several books.
I started years ago wager $50 as you would say a unit on match plays and $10 or $20 on exotics (parlays and outrights), However if plays do not meet criteria I will lesson amount on matches, inparticular in 1st-2nd and 3rd rds. Contrary to many through the years I have not increased wagers,not that it is right thing to do--but being suerstitious I adhere to the "if it isn't broke don't fix it" anology. Also it permits me to do something I enjoy immensely with little anxiety or emotion involved.I probably place more wagers at 5dimes than any other. Here is betting history of last week.
It will give you idea of amounts I wager per rd,I am by no means a high roller and have no intentions or desires of being one--however can think of few things I enjoy more.

P.S. you might note # of ties--I can not stress enough DO NOT wager at books where ties lose on matches but in the rariest of times.It is the biggest killer of bottom line in match play that exists.I try to avoid even looking at lines where ties lose to avoid temptation

Sweet DTB, thanks for posting!! The main reason I want to know is not only to learn from you guys but also be able to compare myself. For my own purposes I will now scale a unit back to be 20.00. I guess that makes me +20.5 units thus far, and will also take your advice on betting smaller. I love betting on golf also, although I would rather be hitting the shot! We need to get together and play this year, I hear you can play. Appreciate you taking the time to do this.

People's "units" or "average bet" should depend on their bankroll. For me, 1pt = 1% of starting year bankroll, so that 1pt play is the same throughout the season and would then be re-evaluated at the start of the next season. Most of my plays are 1.5pts and the absolute maximum is 6pts - a triple play on the Champions Tour - and that is very rare.

So whatever your "units" mean, you should try to make sure that your average bet in golf, as in any other sport, involves no more than 2-3% of your bankroll other than in exceptional circumstances.
