We have renewed our season tickets and I will do my best to keep the forum up to date with MAC hoops info.
I do expect a lot from the Zips this year with the addition of new center Zeke Marshall. He may be a little slow to develop on the offensive end but should have an immediate shot blocking and rebounding impact.
The McKnight brothers are very solid and both have a nice game and both have the ability to be effective inside and outside as well. Soph. point guard Humpty Hitchens is a very talented point guard with a nice jumper and a good eye to hit the open man. He should do nothing but improve. Also expected to make a big impact is 2 guard Brett McClanahan. He was supposed to be red shirted last year but was called up to provide some outside shooting. Reports say he has really improved his shot and will be expected to step up and be a scorer for Akron.
The rest of the team is not spectactular but very steady, well coached and they have a lot of depth. They can play at any tempo and can go big or small.The Zips are very talented, very versatile and should be pretty tough to beat in their conference games this year.I think that Akron should be very solid right out of the gate and may be priced right early in the season.
