Yale -12 over Albany ****
Even though Yale didn't play last year many of there players opted out or withdrew from school on the Ivy League Gap Year Rule. If you un enrolled at the University you got another year of eligibility.. even though the NCAA gave everyone another year. How stupid is the Ivy conference. So withdraw or join a mentoring program or go work at Starbucks for a year. Very educational .
Anyway Yale returns Swain one of the best players in the conf who can shoot,drive and pass. He hit over 90's 's before he took off for the year and worked at Starbucks . Rumor has it he made the best cafe latte's in New Haven and hit over 200 3's with paper cups in their garbage cans, His 6'5 partner Gabbidon is one of the best def players in the IVY. Their pt gd Cotton is 6'5 and can dribble and pentrate , They did lost their top inside player to Notre Dame Atkinson but still have Kolata,Ams and Yess all 6'7 6'8 . They have become more of a perimeter team then inside attack. But Yale plays tough defense and rebounds . They are the favorite to win the IVY .
Meanwhile Albany fires Will Brown who took this team to the NCAA's at least 5 or 6 times. Will had been at Albany for at least 17 years and coached at Sullivan CC in my area. He always recruited some of my kids but Sullivan had no dorms so Delhi always became a favorite of my players or Kansas juco's .
Albany's new coach comes from the Philly area and recruited 6'7 Perry and a few others Philly kids. Perry is a stud and can score . But Albany has trouble scoring avg 58 points a game and already lost to Kansas st by 28, Eastern Kentucky and Kentucky by 13 and 15, Lost to Towson by 21. They can't shoot 3's and are one of the worst FT% teams shooting 64%. Yale played Bonnies tough losing by 4 and beat Siena by 28. Was blow out by Seton Hall but beat UMass by 25.
Think with Swain and Cotton ,Albany defense will have problems stopping them.neither team has a dominate front court but Yale does rebound better and play better defense. Yale defense has some problems but when your playing a team that can't score your defense looks better . Line is now -13 but still think Bulldogs can eat these great danes
