On the course!
I did this a few weeks back, and had 71.....now I check every week, and have only one that keeps coming back.

(I still have my conputer stuck in permanent 'safe mode", by the way!)

Thanks for the info Jack. I only had 4 in my system. Evidently, you and yyz have more stuff worth spying on than I do. Not sure if that's good or bad for me, but thanks again for the info. :D

One thing you guys need to know-

That spy removal software is updated as new 'junk' appears on the internet

also, run the program if your computer seems sluggish or at least once a week

(I started posting info about that program about 4 months ago here on Jack's site and thought it was so important that I put it in the sports forums)

if I see any updates I will post them here

I am not a computer geek, but do know a lot about them

A special thanks to jack for this site and to fletcher for his winning posts . . . .

My ? is, do I have to do anything else? I mean I downloaded the stuff, installed it, and ran it, do I need to do anything else? It showed me a list of things that it found, but do I have to remove them,or did it do that for me?

Will a firewall protect against this?

Answer: No. A firewall will not protect against them and these spyware attachments greatly slow down your internet surfing. For more information, go to the main Web Site (or click on help after downloading the program):

www.lavasoftusa.com

To download the program or automatic update program (the update is called RefUpdate and there is currently an update availible)(the main program is called Ad-Aware 5.81):

after you run the scan, press 'continue' then you'll see a list of files. you have to check off each file individually and then click 'continue' to remove them.

Jack, I guess that I am more challenged than I thought. I have never seen a place to continue or check off anything. The only dialog box that pops up is "Enter the name of the program manager to add icons to". I use a USB speed dial, is that what I highlight or is some other program. Sorry to ask for help and sound like I have no clue, but sadly that is the reality:shrug:
