well....i felt the need to vent....this is a disgrace.....a legit 162 poumd woman at almost 6`0 tall fighting what is a legit 140-144 pound woman at 5`4" tall????

a 24 year old vs a 36 year old......one is buff at 162....the other`s gonna come in at a bloated 150(at least 6 pounds heavier than her worst previous out of shape weight at 144)......

one is a fairly decent athlete,if not a big puncher,in superb shape.....the other looks like a matron at the local senior center....one has stayed active fighting frequently....the other has about 1 fight in the last 2 years...

if "big punching" christy martin couldn`t get poser mia st john out of there, how`s she gonna get this huge woman out?.....

i know it`s a money grab....but c`mon.....who`s kidding who?

what does this prove for ali?.....for martin?....

i think if women`s boxing is searching for legitimacy, this is the wrong path.....

a wild prediction....martin`s nose bleeds like she was attacked by o.j. after a few stiff ali jabs....fight stopped in the middle rounds...

i guess it could go longer...ali doesn`t have serious snap on her shots.....if i trained martin,i`d have her throw nothing but body shots....for as long as she could hold her arms up......

isn`t there any decent fighters ali`s size that she can fight?

throw a tent over this circus....

i agree. looks like some people are trying to bring back an old ali/frazier type thing with the short slugger vs. the slick boxer with looks and charisma etc etc. might very well be a circus but do you think the under or ali call will allow us to collect money under the tent? afterall the bottom line is us making some moola. under?? ali??? think it's worth some short term investment or think the woman's game is too unpredictable?

i feel uncomfortable

i feel uncomfortable

laying hard earned money on this.......so many variables favor ali.....but,i don`t lay 4-1.....at least i can`t remember laying quite that much on anything......

what if i lay 4-1 and it`s ali`s time of the month???????

i know,i`m disgusting:topic: :nooo: :brows: :D :D .....but this is pretty absurd.....

in a men`s bout,i`d take joe calzaghe over kostya tszyu in a heartbeat.......just way to big....why not with the women?......

they don`t punch like men....they can pummel one another for 10 2 minute rounds and survive....if martin doesn`t get bloodied, which i think she will,i could possibly see her surviving for 10 rds.....i don`t expect ali to go after martin unless it`s really easy pickin`s .....if martin gets discouraged, she could coast and just survive the distance....

but, martin coming in at 150???????.....i got 2 words for martin.....

Ali will be in the best shape of her life.
She knows this is the biggest fight in her
career and there is plenty of bad blood.

I agree with GW that the extra weight, layoffs,
and old age will hurt Martin.

If Ali fights the right fight she shouldn't get
touched. With that height and reach advantage
the fight is in her hands to win or lose.

There is one thing to note and that is that Martin has fought
49 fights and Ali 15.

There is something to say about a cagey crafty veteran fighter with this amount of experience.

Ali can talk the talk but does she have the experience to overwhelm Martin ? I doubt it.

Martin will get hit and will have trouble hitting Ali but Martin is too smart to get nailed easily.
