For "drinking money", $10 on Van Biljon to score a try at $10
Seven members of the Springboks rugby team, including star halfback Joost van der Westhuizen, have been hit by food poisoning ahead of tonight's Tri Nations rugby clash with the All Blacks at Eden Park in Auckland.
In a scenario reminiscent of the All Blacks' bout of food poisoning just before the 1995 World Cup final against the Boks in Johannesburg, internet sports sites planet-rugby and Sport365 both carried reports today that van der Westhuizen had been hardest hit by the bug.
The reports said that while team doctors felt the veteran halfback would be able to play tonight, his condition was causing them anxiety last night.
Van der Westhuizen, due to play his 75th test, had a light run yesterday but according to a statement issued by the South African Rugby Union went to bed early in a bid to get back to full strength.
The Springboks' medical team were confident Van der Westhuizen would make a necessary recovery but were concerned by his condition yesterday.
Other players affected included fullback Conrad Jantjes, props Cobus Visagie, Willie Meyer and Ollie le Roux, loose forward Joe van Niekerk and lock Johan Ackerman.
These players were feeling a lot better last night after suffering from the effects of the bug more severely on Thursday.
