Outright plays (2 units):

Bruce Lietzke to win 12/1 e.w. @ SkyBet
Before winning the U.S. Senior Open in June, Lietzke had finished in the top-7 in his previous four events, winning once. Since his first major win, he has yet to finish in the top-10 in three starts, but in his last two events this month he has at least played well over the weekend to recover from a slow start. There are signs that the motivation is returning (a problem throughout his PGA Tour career) and having finished in the top-3 on both occasions that this course has been used, he looks a strong contender this week.

Gil Morgan to win 25/1 e.w. @ Bet365
Morgan's record at Glen Oaks is almost as good - 2nd and 7th - and his form has been more consistent than Lietzke's even if he has no wins to his name this season. He finished 2nd for the third time in 2003 at the 3M Championship two weeks ago and if he maintains this form, he will surely win before the season is over.

Tom Purtzer to win 25/1 e.w. @ SkyBet
Morgan should have finished 2nd to Purtzer two weeks ago, but he hit two balls in the water on the penultimate hole. One ball in the water and at least there would have been the consolation of a place win on the selection, but not with two balls. Bearing no grudge ... well, just a little ... Purtzer is a selection again. He has finished in the top-5 in his previous two starts and while he has no course experience, in this form he should be in the frame again. Plus, he has some lost money to recoup for me!

D.A. Weibring to win 25/1 e.w. @ SkyBet
Couldn't really split Purtzer and Weibring so adding a fourth selection this week. Like Purtzer, Weibring has finished in the top-10 in his last three finishes, like Purtzer, he has no course experience and like Purtzer, he has been hitting a lot of greens in regulation lately. That is important on this course, so it looks as if they will be fairly close to each other on the leaderboard.

:yup

Back to Lancashire where a cappucino is just a "frothy coffee"

And I'm sure there'll be other opportunities for lunch ... I'll be a frequent visitor ... and Oxford is much nicer when just visiting ;)

Outrights: 1-3; -4.00 units

Lietzke 2nd
Morgan 46th
Purtzer 10th
Weibring 34th

1st or 2nd at the end of each round, it had to be 2nd when Lietzke finished his last round. He was in contention throughout and looked like winning, which is far more than the other selections did.
