Outright plays (total stake per play: 2pts)

Morris Hatalsky to win 14/1 e.w. @ Boyle Sports
The most consistent player on Tour, Hatalsky ranks 1st in Top-10 Finishes with seven in his last eight starts, including 2nd and 4th in his last two starts. The change of venue will certainly help as he failed to finish in the top-10 in any of three starts in Des Moines, but this is a completely different course setup and event history will mean very little this week. Short odds, but not as short as Skybet who make him 8/1 2nd-favourite. He should at least be in contention for another place finish

Dana Quigley to win 14/1 e.w. @ Boyle Sports
Quigley has just one less top-10 finish this year and is also on a run with four consecutive top-10 finishes. Mike Reid denied him victory last week, but he is not one to brood so long as he can get back on the course. The 'Iron Man' of this Tour is now ranked 1st in the Money List as well as 1st in the All-Round Ranking and should bounce back in style this week.

Tom Purtzer to win 33/1 e.w. @ BetInternet
Purtzer has been every bit as consistent as Hatalsky this season, just not at the same exceptionally high standard. Whereas Hatalsky leads the Tour in top-10 finishes, Purtzer would do the same in a top-20 category. He has finished inside that mark in nine of ten Champions Tour starts this year, recovering well from an opening 77 last week (93rd after Round 1) to reach that mark again. A slow start could have been expected after he played in The Colonial the previous week, closing with a 64 to finish 21st. That's a very impressive performance for a 53-year-old and if he started slowly last week because of it, that should not be the case this week. Purtzer was born in Iowa and there's nothing like a home tournament and a home crowd if you're playing well.

Matchup plays (2pts):

Don Reese to beat Andy Bean -122 @ Five Dimes
A new course so current form should be paramount this week and Reese dominates in this category. They have played in six common events in the last three months (four in the last five weeks) and Bean has finished ahead of Reese only once and that was by a single shot.

Rodger Davis to beat Bob Gilder -114 @ Expekt
Just as strong a difference in form between these two players. In their last eight common events, Gilder has finished ahead of Davis just once and the margins of victory for Davis in the last three events have been twelve, nine and six (at the cut) shots respectively. A considerable difference in form.

Ted McKnight to beat Bob Gilder +105 @ Five Dimes
Similar story here. In their last seven common events, Gilder has finished ahead of McKnight only once and lost by twelve shots to McKnight after just 36 holes last week. The new course should even out any advantage that the more season Champions Tour player should have each week, so this is a surprising choice of favourite by Five Dimes.

Stanley, I hope they give you a decent limit at 5dimes because they obviously use your picks as a mark. Which other golf books would you recommend for match-ups? I see gofinggods and expekt are in your list. Are there any to avoid.
My golf betting has usually been restricted to an e/w bet on Sundays but I would like to expand my horizons.
I have a superodds.com....are they always the same as centrebet?
Boy lotsa questions!

Thanks.

Yes, Five Dimes are very quick to move lines when picks are posted on here. The double-edged sword of a successful forum, I suppose ... but then, they probably wouldn't post odds if we didn't help create a demand for them ;)

Not of the books on my 'list' are books to avoid. I try to keep only reputable and/or promising books on there.

Pinnacle are very good for matchups - they have the lowest vig in golf betting

And yes, Superodds and Centrebet are part of the same company and have the same odds.

Outrights - FINAL RESULT: 1-2; -3.75pts

Hatalsky 17th
Quigley 4th
Purtzer 37th

Could have been a whole lot better. Hatalsky started the final round in 2nd place and Quigley rose as high as 2nd place during the final round, but a four-way share of two place positions is the only return on the event.

Matchups - FINAL RESULT: 0-3; -6.71pts

Reese/Bean LOST by 1
Davis/Gilder LOST by 1
McKnight/Gilder LOST by 11

Ouch! Two single shot losses and a very disappointing event.

Champions Tour ytd
Outrights: 9-24; +4.95pts
Matchups: 16-9; +15.97pts

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to open up a couple more accounts and spend a little more time in this forum.
