This rule is against everything that basketball is supposed to be. It is a team game, but probably more than any other team game one person can win games for you. The rule of possession arrow for jump balls is a disgrace. If two people are scrapping for a ball, they should be the ones that determine who gets the ball; not a machine on the sideline.

This brings me to another point. One hand on the ball reaching around a guy does not constitute a tied up situation. Both players are to have a stake to the ball. This call is made far too often and too quickly.

The whole possession rule needs to be changed back to the way it used to be IMO.

Any other opinions? Does anyone prefer the alternate possession rule?
