have several accounts, and have one with etrade Canada.
have positions in several income trusts and noticed that did not seem to get the monthly dividends on one income trust. should have noticed this sooner.
the amount of the missing dividends was just under $500 for the missed dividends. First brought it to their attention on Thursday morning, received half of the dividends still waiting on the rest....they tell me it is being investigated or
investigation/RUSH.
should be cleared up this week, and customer service has been polite, they should fix the problem sooner but often you must deal with this red tape.
1. never lose your temper, apoligize even if you raise you voice.
2. get the name of the person you are talking to, and write down when you are talking to them.....sometimes these things can drag on....red tape..brazil....ect.
3. stay with it, I will be having a ten mintue phone call each day with etrade until I am paid.
4. never just talk to one customer service rep....long story, unless you have got results in less than 2 days.
this has happened only twice before a mix up: but never with dividends, TD waterhouse, and Bank of Montreal.. still deal with both.
just remember always check your statement. I should have caught the problem sooner....no one cares more about your money than you do....
