you know me hated for ohio state, but that could be a good spot for the bucks. bucks have been brutal so far, but all their struggles have been on the road/neutral. gtech off huge wins vs uconn and texas tech. probably very full of themselves. theyre not used that that kind of success (at least recently)

gman, I was just thinking the books must be under the impression that the Tech players have been reading too many of their headlines. Expected a bigger line, but maybe Ohio State plays better at home and Tech loses focus a little. I'll probably stay far away from this one.

im always willing to go anti-bucks and i have never been enamored with their hoops program. theyre nothing special this year but theyre also not garbage. their transfers (sullinger and stockman) are very solid. stockman is a local product from cleveland. hes made big strides from his HS days. he was surprisingly good at clemson and he has played very well for ohio state his first few games. only problem with osu is that they seem to rely so much on stockman/sullinger that it makes me wonder where the heck this program would be if those two guys didnt decide to transfer home. theyre not getting much production from anyone else.

georgia tech is playing great basketball right now. the texas tech game was far more impressive than the uconn game. anyone can get up for uconn and the #1 ranked team. but for the jackets to be able to re-focus and destroy texas tech 48 hrs later was impressive. still dont think they should be laying road chalk in columbus though. realistically think this game could be a pick 'em.

heres another thing worth noting. if i recall correctly, tech was amazing at home last year but failed to qualify for the ncaa tourney because they were abysmal on the road. their team hasnt changed that much. they still gotta prove they can win on the road

ill look at it one way:

georgia tech is a brutal brutal road team. this same team couldnt beat an awful clemson team on the road with their ncaa tourney lives at stake, and then failed again vs florida state.

now all the sudden people want to hammer a team that cant even win straight up on the road, let alone cover

gman.....I am with you (see my thread).....I have a feeling that the Buckeyes will hang in there all game and the crowd will push them to a cover at some point.

No offense to anyone.....but do you get the feeling that this is one of those games that everyone is on Georgia Tech, and at the end of the night....you see threads popping up like " What the FUK is Ga Tech doing tonight?" or "Ga Tech sucks!"....it is going to happen tonight, I just know it.

I have seen both teams play this year and the the thing that strikes me about GT is their defense. They have kept everybody they have played to under 40% from the floor and that is the recipe to cook up victories. I also like the fact that they were able to hold their own on the glass vs. Okafor and company.

The bucks on the other hand have experienced several defensive breakdowns against mediocre competition ,(did you see what ST. Joe's did to SF last night?) and it is apparent to me that all of the new faces are not yet a cohesive unit on the floor particularly on the defensive end side of the ball.

If the Buckeyes are to hang with the Jackets, they will need shoot it well very and hit their 3s. It would also be a big boost to the buckeyes to knock down their free throws which has been another glaring deficiency of this team. ( gotta be under 60%)

In my opening post I was just trying to open some eyes to the fact that 3' is a very soft opening line for a team that has absolutely steamrolled everybody that they have played. The line has and probably will continue to move up. I maintain that the Jackets are a great value at 3' and played them at that number. If you really think that the bucks will rise to the occasion
you should get 5 -5' by tipoff.

I guess that I'm just a square LOL

:D

PS. I need an editor, applications being accepted:D

I know conference play is different, but I have learned to never bet against OSU on their home floor. The buckeyes getting points is quite tempting, but since G Tech seems to be the better squad, it's just a pass for me. Personally, I think that right now Vegas doesn't really know how to cap this game, because it's unclear how good G Tech really is. This reminds me a little bit of last year when nobody expected the Tar Heels to be good, and they had a couple early impressive wins and won the preseason NIT. Then they went into Illinois and got obliterated by 27. Granted Illinois last year was better than OSU this year, but still. With a team like G Tech, I like to hold off betting for or against them for a couple more games to see if they are the real deal or just a 2 week fluke.

like i said......georgia tech will roll... tried to warn you :D

i dont think osu is quite as bad as they looked; however, theyre not very good, especially if stockman plays ricky davis-style basketball.
