i'm normally not big into trends but here's a couple for the second week of nfc playoffs that can't be ignored

the last 10 nfc teams to win their wild card game lost in the second round

overall, the first round nfc wild card winners are 1-21 s/u under the current playoff format

it looks like the extra week off makes a huge difference

any thoughts?

I somewhat I agree

I somewhat I agree

Isn't this expected for the team with the week off to win. It might not have anything to do with the fact off. It has everyting to do with the team waiting is the #1 or #2 seed.

Much more significant may be what they were against the spread.

I don't have the numbers against the spread but, AFC and NFC combined, since going to the 12 team format, the team with bye (aka home team), is 36-8 (su) in this round, that is a .818 winning percentage...

The extra week of rest seems to make a huge difference, especially at this time of year when teams are beaten up.

No team was favored by more than 3.5 points last week. The smallest margin of victory last week was 10 points.

Gotta love these homers... :brows:

Pats -3

Bears -2.5
