Phil Mickelson's wife, Amy, has been diagnosed with breast cancer, and the three-time major champion says he will suspend his PGA Tour schedule indefinitely.

Mickelson's management company says Amy Mickelson will begin treatment with major surgery as early as the next two weeks.

They were married in 1996 and have three children.

Mickelson was to play the Byron Nelson Championship this week, and defend his title next week at Colonial.

Sheesh. There was nothing more exciting than watching Tiger s. Phil at the Masters...

I have to respectfully disagree and my thoughts and prayers go out to him. :)

I agree, the Masters final round was awesome, I wanted Phil to win over Tiger... my point is that the US Open will have just as good ratings as it has had in the last few years without Lefty:shrug:

Tiger is back...

So much for my fantasy golf team... but definitely secondary to the family concerns. After my wife went through a melanoma issue last year, this stuff really causes me pause. Hope they make it through, for sure. Great move putting the career on hold for her and the kids.
