Hi folks
Nice to be back after 5 days away; good time was had, mind and soul relaxed - almost
A quick recap of the weekend's work is due but seeing it's already Wed NZ time, I won't linger as I'm behind in the 'capping schedule for the upcoming week.
Last weekend: NRL 2-2; Best Bet 0-1
A winning weekend was ruined by a late try from the Cowboys against the Sharks to give them a late cover. This one should have been well over by then, Sharks totally dominated as expected after a slow start but blew three tries yet still led by 14 (we had them at -10.5) late. On the right side; a bad beat.
Sorry for those who jumped on the Roosters. They were disappointing and I'll watch them carefully while they're still so inconsistent. At least we got the 2nd half of the hedge with a ridiculously easy over.
The Raiders were a nice home cover of a small spread.
Season to date: 9-8 (52.94%); BEST BET 1-1
Like I said at the beginning of the season, the NRL is incredibly tough work. But I still think we can crack the targeted 56% mark - we haven't had a lot of luck lately and I think that will even out over a long season.
Super 12 continues to be the cash cow as we registered our fourth successive winning weekend; going 2-1. Chiefs as dogs won SU, Bulls showed some fight again to cover easily v the Brumbies after an early scare but the Hurricanes, after looking likely early, disintegrated again v the Sharks.
Season to date: 8-2 (80%); BEST BET 2-0
Thanx to all the comments on the last post, and welcome to newcomers like AzRusty - hope I can continue to chase some winners for you my friend.
I almost went cold turkey sports-wise at the weekend as my sister-in-law got married and both in-laws I stayed with are not sports fans at all and don't have satellite TV
So while it was soothing in some ways, I was still desperate to get at a radio or newspaper at various stages of the weekend.
It also means that I may tred very cautiously on this weekend's picks without having seen any action from the previous games, although I did start some homework by catching a Super12 re-cap show last night and am trawling the 'net and wires at work today to get up-to-date.
Will post again soon
Cheers
