Each year my wife and I along with 3 other couples travel to a new location over MLK weekend. This year is Philadelphia. Might drive to DC or AC for a day if advisable. Mainly looking for best location/area to stay as the ladies like shopping/good restaurants, and the guys like history and other "cool" stuff. Would prefer a large airbnb, but willing to do hotel. Any pointers and must do's welcomed! Have always gotten great advice here and Terry(Sportsaholic) was a huge help in our trip to Maine last year. Thanks in advance for any info you can share!

Hey....here are my two suggestions.......

1. You need to visit these east coast wineries that you are going to be around. Most of them are fun as they have great food, cool tours etc.....My wife and I selected each winery based solely on Google reviews and had a great time.

2. If for any reason you go to the Lincoln Memorial....make certain you go at night.

Bonus advice: See what musical event they are having at The Wolf Trap venue while you're there.

The end.

No wine drinkers and 3 don't even drink:facepalm:

Pretty sure we will visit DC as as wash plays Golden State that weekend. Never been to DC, so pumped for that!

Thanks Brother!

Autumn and I visited friends in Seattle on our 1st anniversary. We'd love to go back 20+ years later.

We enjoyed the view of the Puget Sound and Mt Ranier, the fish market, the floating bridge that separates the Mariners & Huskies stadium. Coffee. Space needle.

I liked it

Hello there. I’m sorry for the non-US suggestion, but you guys must visit Barcelona!! Last summer, we went on a free Barcelona walking tour, which was amazing! We spent a week in Spain, so we went to Madrid and Barcelona. Tbh, it’s the brightest country we’ve ever been to. We liked the food so much. Though it may not seem cheap, the amount of food you get is shocking! We ordered only one course because if we had ordered two of them, we wouldn’t have eaten both!! So, Barcelona is a must! Hope we’re coming back there next summer. Best wishes!

I am not a world traveler, but my sister and her husband are. One time she thumbed through a special issue from Time magazine of 100 places you need to visit before you die, and they had visited 47. Anyway, their two favorite travel destinations are Spain and Italy, which they have visited multiple times, including Barcelona.

I’m also going there in a couple of weeks to visit some of my old friends, and it would be nice to stay in a good hotel. I don’t want to deal with Airbnb this time because I got scammed before, and I don’t want to waste my time and money on that again. My friends don’t know I’m coming, so I cannot ask them for a recommendation.
I prefer booking the place I want in advance, so I don’t have to look for a hotels near me upon arrival. It’s too stressful for me and a sure way to get the worst price ever.
So, it would be cool to see some nice hotel recommendations in the area.

The Four Seasons Hotel is pretty good.
