To the Mountaineer riding colony is Sidney LeJueneJr. He won one yesterday and has the call on a couple of J Bairds horses tonight. He can ride, so keep an eye on him.

Lumpkins has tailed off, after a very good first week. I do like him on a first time starter in the 6th tonight # 1) Miss Belga Bound who is coming into this race on the heels of a very sharp 5 furlong work( 1:00.40) I will play her if the price is right.

Mr. lumpkins may also be worth a couple of bucks in the 9th race aboard # 7 Same Old Trouble at a good price. This one has a bit of speed , shortens from 6F to 5.5 F and comes off of a troubled trip. His best puts him in the hunt, though his knack for running 2nd and 3rd with a poor winning % is a cause for concern.

Well, as Irony would have it Lumpkins won on his only mount that I did not back. You may want to remember Miss Belga Bound. She broke very slowly, made a sustained drive while pinned down on a very dead rail, actually got to the front at the head of the stretch but hung late while still on the rail to be 3rd.

I like Birzer, he's not one of my favorite 3 or4 jocks there, but he is a pretty decent rider and would be in my top 10 for sure.
