No reply?

I thought it was a powerful testimony of the wages of sin, a repentant heart and the greatness of God's love and mercy.

No reply?

Both sad and frightening.

Here's a reply.

Throwing one feel-good Christian story our way is tolerable. Anything beyond that starts to feel like I'm alone in an elevator with a priest. I'd rather mind my own business and avoid getting myself caught up in something that could get really uncomfortable.

gmroz22,

May I ask you a personal question?

Do you have any children?

If you tell me "none of your business", I'll understand and there will be no hard feelings.

No problem Buddy.

I don't have children. I don't know that I will have children. (BTW, I am 32).

For background, I have a catholic education (high school and undergrad). However, my education brought me to a realization about the purpose of religion. Since I don't have trouble coping with death, I don't have much need for religion. Perhaps that will change, but for now,I can do without.

that`s a very interesting comment......at 32,you feel sort of invincible,don`t you?..........

some doctor says something like prostate cancer or lymphoma of quadruple by-pass to you and you may consider reconsidering....

but,i hear you.....i thought your initial comment to buddy was very reasonable...and although i understand that a little subtle proselytizing may bug you a bit, clearly it doesn`t appear to drive you into an hysterical frenzy, like say, counselor "slip and fall"....

my feeling is that i can deal with being told i'm going to hell (for not accepting jesus or for someone being jewish or whatever).....

as my threads would lead you to surmise.it`s the people who try to send me there that i have a problem with.....i.e. radical islamists....

i`m still not entirely sure what to make of the new, devout buddy,myself.........something feels not quite right here......my sphincter tends to tighten involuntarily when i read these new "buddy" threads.....much like it does when i read something from f.lee haskell,esquire.......

if i`m wrong buddy, please forgive my skepticism....

Yeah, you got me pegged Weasel. I do feel invincible. As a matter of fact, I'm thinking about declaring war on a foreign country.

At what age do you think I will fall into the "grown up" category and no longer feel this sense of invincibility.

The part about me reconsidering is interesting because I did mention that "Perhaps that will change, but for now, I can do without." I'm human, not invincible....physically or mentally.

didn`t say you weren`t a "grown up"....don`t know you...just commenting on the human condition and my experience.....perceptions change as the mileage piles up on the old odometer....

i was 32 for about a year......i`ve been there....enjoy it....

Story would be nicer if it didn't come from a snake oil slime ball like Pat Robertson.

JT,

If you don't mind me asking, why are you angry with Pat Robertson? I may have a chance to learn something here.
