Another DSS Question?????? PLEASE Help.

First of all let me give this bit of info up front....I subscribe to the basic 21.00 package thinking that it may help protect me from being hit. That being said:
When I got hit the other night I lost all 200's and 300's except for 204/CNN....BUT, I have audio on all of these channels, it's just the video that is down.
Is there some way that they are waiting for me to call and ask what happened to my subscribed channels to give them an opportunity to track the fact that I have a programmed card?
I have not contacted DirecTV yet. Can someone please advise as to the best route for me to take at this point.

Keyser, I live in the Southeast. I use a normal, legit card and lost most basic programming. Called directtv and they said that something had happened that had fried a lot of normal cards in this part of the country. They said that the only way to fix it was to replace the card, and that they would be sending new cards to all subscribers that called in. From what they said this effected a large number of subscribers.

Rebel Yell thanks..........I just called them and they were not that cooperative. Told me to try reseting it, which of course didn't work......then told me there were no problems in my area and for further information contact the maker of my receiver.Now I don't know what to do.

Sorry I cant help, but that is what I was told. Their rep told me that they were getting so many calls that they were going to quit answering the phone in person and put on a recording.

This is probably way out in left field but you don't suppose that they would make a mistake like that and then try to cover it up do ya. I will call again tomorrow. Is anyone else out there having problems?

i'll get ahold of ex67 and he'll answer all your questions. all mu 200 and 300's got hit also. i was suppose to got to ex67's house and redo my card but of course i didn't ansd now i hope i didn't pay the price???

The current blackouts on HU cards are caused by dynamic code it is being used to do nothing more than alter
the video decryption keys,The entire mechanism is quite complex. The "pre-ECM" packets as they're
being referred to are actually Cmd81's sent down in encrypted Cmd90 packets.

your cards are not fried yet but i would not leave them in the way they are now.

GUY'S,calling d@$% is the wrong thing to do,they know exactly what's going on,if a legit card with no "extra" code on it get's the psb message they can fix it in a second,if they can't they know what your doing,besides having a phone line pluged in,calling d@$% is the WORST thing you can do.

i've had a file called m3m up for days,that's the public fix..

BOBBYW-if i was you i would go to wally world and buy a new system($80.00 or less)it comes with a new card,hook up the reciver call d@$% and tell them that your local retailer exchanged it for you because the unit was under warrnty and you want to transfer your sub to it,they should do it know problem because they arent harming recivers(play dumb and blame it on the kid's)then get ahold of were you got your card done and have it cleaned and reloaded,use the legit card for times like this and your hacked one when you want 596(grin)this way you never lose your sub and have no reson to call d@$%.

one thing everyone needs to remember is that it is a game,for every move there is a counter and dont jump when there is a problem,there will always be down time,it's part of the game............
