So do you think this type of thing will be the death of the off-shores? I would think the confidence of getting paid (if one won) would be the main factor? And probably a dumb question, but I guess folks from one state can 'do busines' with a sportsbook located in another state? or maybe not?

Do I have to be a resident of Colorado, Pennsylvania or Indiana to bet on BetRivers?
You do not need to be a resident of Colorado, Pennsylvania or Indiana to be able to bet through BetRivers in those states. You only have to be 21 years of age, a U.S. citizen and inside the state?s borders to place a bet on BetRivers? platform. Because online sports betting is legal in Colorado, Pennsylvania and Indiana, BetRivers has the ability to verify that you?re within any of these states before accepting your wager.

A few examples to hammer the point home: Let?s say you live in California, which does not have legal sports betting, and you travel to Vail, Colorado, for a vacation with your family over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. While you?re in Colorado, you?re legally able to open a BetRivers sportsbook account, claim your $250 bonus using promo code 250MATCH using this link and bet on all the NFL playoff games over the weekend. Once it?s time to head home, you?re free to withdraw any funds remaining in your account ? or you can leave them there for your next trip back to Colorado.

You don?t have to be in a given state for an extended period of time to register for a BetRivers account and place a bet, either. Indiana, for example, borders Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan and Illinois, and plenty of bettors from those states have crossed into Hoosier land for the sole purpose of placing a bet before turning around and heading back home. Because it?s such an easy process to sign up for an account with the promo code, claim your bonus and bet, you can make a quick trip out of it, no problem.

If you open a BetRivers account in one state and travel to another one where it has an online sportsbook, you can use your same login credentials to bet, though the BetRivers sportsbooks in each state have their own distinct homepages.

Without a doubt . Easy deposit methods. You can use your bank acct , credit , debit or go to a pay near me . Give them cash you have a deposit code from rivers they scan and your good to go.
Receive cash same day. Cash out and go to casino to collect or deposit in your bank act

You can parlay live games
Buy points in live games
Cash out early if your team has a big lead
So many options and games are graded immediately
It better than old school Vegas
Hope it comes to a state near you

Thanks guys, very interesting. I should have known though that I couldn't open an online account in another state while never leaving my current (home) state. But it is nice to know that if you traveled to another state you could still bet.

Nope, can't do that either. You have to be in your state when you bet.

Guess I misunderstood what the previous guys were saying. In my case it wouldn't be that much of an inconvenience if I couldn't bet (online) in another state or bet off-shore. I'm within an hour of the Mississippi state line and could easily go there to bet and play a little poker to kill time. Of course, I'm talking football mainly where your just getting down about 1 day out of the week; betting basketball or other sports where they play every day wouldn't be that convenient.

I guess there will be advantages/disadvantages to all methods; (1) online in your state, (2) off-shore, and (3) just walking into a sports book in any state and placing a bet. My original thinking was that all these states legalizing would hurt the off shores; but I'm not so sure anymore as some guys might want to dodge the tax man or just have the luxury of 'playing' right from home (which is nice). I wouldn't encourage the 1st as the District Commissioner of the IRS is the only entity out there that can take your home without a court order (at least that's what I was taught in tax class, although it might have been the one I made a D in :SIB.

Here's a list of states and where they stand on sports betting. Feel free to correct me on any facts or assumptions I made; as the years roll on the mistakes are much easier to make.
