What kind of workouts do you suggest for leaning/toning up?! I hate googling stuff because you never know what shit is legit and it always seems to be a testimony of someone already in shape.

Long story short, Im 6?4 and was around 265lbs. I?ve cut down to low 220s from cleaner eating, mostly cardio workouts, and hiking. I?d love to hear any little workouts anyone here is a fan of? Any meals that you?d suggest to help leaning/toning? I don?t want to look like a twig lol But also don?t have the dedication to look shredded. I?m definitelt a fan of trying new little things so thanks for all advice!

Congrats on the weight loss! I?m in that same process, and I?ll be looking for a program that builds muscle without all the heavy impact my body can?t tolerate. I like riding a stationary bike for weight loss. Just pop it in front of the tv and ride the whole time ur watching a movie.

The Insanity and Cross fit stuff work, but just get u hurt when u get my age.

U get to your 40's 50's and beyond it gets tuffer and tuffer. WHEN I WAS YOUnger i had work out buddies. Now they are non existant. When i lived in vegas i worked out with showgirls and strippers. Great to have a feature dancer spotting u on bench presses. My last attempt i got a personal trainer. That is the best of all worlds.
I have a$20 per month Planet Fitness membership i can use in Wisconsin and Puerto Rico. Dont go reg any more but its there when i want it. Any one shd be able to afford a measely 20 bucks . I have a gym at home but its gathering dust. At my age i love great food every day of my life. I don't eat crap burgers and chilli dogs. 4 oz a turkey and a fruit cup don't cut it any more for me. Love my personal chef in Puerto Rico. She got rid of my Abs 10 years ago. Ceviche and ocean fresh Red Snapper fer ever !!

Swimming is great exercise, and it's easy on your joints.

Yes it is. But to build muscle you need to push iron.. hpwever the circuits in most gyms these days make it so much more pleasurable. I started out on Nautilus machines that revolutionized strencth training and made athletes in to super human monsters. Now every one makse similar machines. The machines give you resistance thru out the arc of the movement , No matter what age u can do em at a level u can manage. 12 oz however is a little light !!!!

Congrats on your success Turn. Compound/Functional movements are great for what you sound like you want to do. CrossFit acts like they made these lifts up, but truly, deadlifts, squats, pullups/pushups, and then progressing into lifts like cleans and clean and press will work wonders. Throw in some sprints and you'll be rocking and rolling. The key is before adding any weight making sure your form is 100%. Lots of people talk about how their knees hurt doing squats etc, but generally its one of two things, improper form and or using too much weight, too quickly.
It may make sense to contact a certified trainer and buy a few sessions to insure form is proper and go from there. Lots of videos out there too on proper form. But once you've made sure that is solid, you'll quickly progress and be amazed how much stronger you get. Hope that helps.

Low carb diets probably work the best in getting the weight off the fastest, but in the long-run, are not sustainable. I'm talking about going 30 net grams of carbs a day type of thing. However, if you make a conscious lifestyle choice to limit your carbs (have a slice of cake or a sandwich once in awhile), you are less likely to fall off the wagon and revert back to seeking sugar when you get cravings. More evidence has shown that it is sugar and not fat that makes people fat (in addition to no activity, bad hormones and bad genetics).

Ketogenic diets (high fat, high protein, very low carb) are the rage right now, but can be bad for people that have had prior heart issues.

Good luck!

First off, Low carb diets are completely sustainable and ZERO CARB is too.....there is no inherent risk of high cholesterol eating only fat and protein. I know Drs and 100s that are proving this daily. I had my bloodwork done in April after 3 months of total carnivory and my numbers came back better than they ever have

Secondly, no veggies or fruits are needed ever....a man can live on meat alone...I am living proof....have eaten only meat since 1/1/18 (except for 2 vacations where I cheated minimally)...

Finally, you are correct in stating that sugar is the devil (your words blended into mine)....

Clint, are you still a Carnivore??

Good luck, I just wanted to chime in as there are hundreds of thousands of options in diet, just find the one that works for you

Balls Deep
Try P90X3

Unlike the original P90- workouts are 30 min vs 60-90 min, much less weights/upper body oriented, workouts are varied and fun. You'll need a pull up bar and you get get an assistance band to work your way up. Dumbbells. Some space. Most of the workouts are plyometric, one or two are upper body, some yoga, a little of everything. I've done this program 3 or 4 times because I like it so much.
