Upstairs watching sports on the big TV.
Taking bids on our 2 story (mostly brick) for paint and minor wood repairs or replacement...

What are good questions to ask? Bonded?
Prep work to be expected? Brushed and rolled versus spray?
Guarantee? Should we supply paint to insure good quality?
Got some names from Angie's List...coming tomorrow..

I started with Angies List last summer to get house painted and had several estimates. The jokers on there wanted 3k and up to do the exterior. You may want to try Homeadvisors or Thumbtack. Took me a couple of weeks but I found a bonded painter through Homeadvisor that did an excellent job for 1600 paint included. Of course had some shady characters give me some really low estimates as well through those sites. Any red flags just move on to the next. Do your research and take your time. Most can get the paint cheaper than you. Just pick the color. I think its more expensive to have it rolled as more paint is used and it takes longer but probably last longer. Mine was sprayed. Good luck!

DM here is what I tell anyone when they contact me about taking care of the grounds on their estate.

Pictures in my phone and 23 different folks they can call and go by and see my work and ask those folks ANYTHING ABOUT ME AND MY WORK...

any professional painter should have numerous nearby jobs he and or she has done recently for you to inspect and ask questions of those past customers.

questions to answer..

certainly those listed above in your post..

but the first...where was your last job and how do I contact them?

Seeing is believing.......

Big time wrong as usual dip shit. I live in an area where homes go for well over a million bucks... And Hispanic labor is common and they do excellent work. There is a lot of restoration work around here done on estates on Lake Michigan. Lot of it by folks from cards at big box stores . Been around rehabbers fer a life time.

My home was re done with all maple wood work all maple wood windows slate flooring Brazilian cherry flooring Zeeero carpets. All Kohler fixtures and jacuzzis. By a high end contractor that did get a lot of stuff from Home Depot. Custom stuff was done by custom Cabinet makers to my spec. Each Maple door was $2400.00. Now go suck some Hog Semen moron. Better yet before you croak "Pick A Winner "" By the way Donald Trump used some of that cheap labor....in the thousands .

If there are any housing developments going up in your area drive through it and look for the painters. Stop and talk to them. Same thing with brick work. It's how i met the guys i still use now when a customer asks me for a recommendation

Yup a good idea but but not all areas have new developments.. I stand by my recomendations. If you own property esp- if you own many properties you should have established a relationship in advance with some one who's opinions and advice you trust. We have a hardware store here in the inner city that has people that can answer any questions you have unlike Big Box stores. Have gotten great references every time. AS for the paint i still say go to a paint store . They will know. Faux painting which is not commonly done i got a ref from Sherwin Williams and got a young lady from Eastern Europe here less that 2 years. She did an abs stunning job. And Vinnie >>>>>> I am working on last leg of a 5 teamer if i have time i will come back and wipe the floor with your face.. >>>>. dry it of with your ass. You are truly one stupid useless life form. And Vinnie rem .. Don't Swallow..Don't Dribble..And keep that Turkey Frank up your ass at all times....And Vinnie why don't you have your 5 year old write some Prose for ya since u have 3rd world writing skills.....and intellect. Uganda be kidding me. As usually ..own your dumb ass to the Max......Slurp !! Love this shit... Hammer Hemingway/ Faulkner ......!.

You want a def of Hispanic go to Wikipedia..In general means people with Spanish origins. You live in San Diego and don't know stuff and services are cheaper in Tijuana. WE used to run cars from the US to Tijuana border shops to be re upholstered and painted fear 1/5th of the cost in US.. $99 per complete re upholster. This was in the 80's . All stopped in 2008.

Who said it was a Nationality..how did that get in the conversation...... U smnokin' today ?????
