If you saw the special done by Christiane Amanapour in Afghanistan, I'm sure you were as shocked as I was. The atrocities being committed against people there are appalling. They use the futbol stadium for public executions now. Women are not allowed to work even if they are the sole adult in their household. They must beg for their income. Women are not allowed medical care. Afghanistan has one of the highest mortality rates for women during childbirth. 1 out of 5 children die before the age of 5 years. In villages that the Taliban army captures, the townfolk are shot execution style on the spot for reasons as simple as not knowing the Taliban language.

I sure was ignorant to the situation over there. This reminds me of Stalin's rule over his people and the atrocities he committed in the 1930s. What a sad, sad situation. All done in the name of Allah too. What twisted thinking!

That is why these people need to be wiped from the face of the earth. This ideology is evil and it needs to be disposed of just as Hitler's and Stalin's were. And we need to do it QUICKLY before it grows like the former two's did. It may be too late but hopefully not. What is scary, is that this way of thinking is pretty close to what some of the Arab's in the PLO groups also think......and we don't need them to join in the fray.

Makes you wonder why the US government has given 43 million dollars in direct aid to the Taliban in an attempt to persuade them to allow Unocal to build an oil pipeline across Afghanistan. The US government has provided the initial primary financial and military support for Saddam Hussein (remember the Iraq-Iran war), Osama Bin Laden (remember the Soviet-Afghanistan war), and the Taliban (remember the Afghani civil war after the Soviet pullout).
