i gotta say....i was impressed...martinez is a decent technician...maybe lacking a little pop....but,he`s a solid fighter himself...he landed some decent shots on alvarez...

the announcers said alvarez was undefeated but boxrec shows a loss...ctually a completely different record...i tend to believe boxrec..the guy`s only 17 years old...

but this kid alvarez...he looks like an irish/mexican with the red hair and the fair complexion...(lol)....but he`s so strong...

his defense is decent, even though he seems to eschew defense just to stalk his man and land his own shots....which are fairly substantial for a guy 17 years old...

he was a little stingy with his punches at times...but,he doesn`t waste shots, for the most part...and when he has his man in position,he unleashes flurries....up and down...with some power...

and even while out of position was throwing double straight right hands and they were quick and did some damage...

a strong looking kid..hard to believe he`s only 17... with some real skills...definitely a guy to keep your eye on...he`s obviously not ready for the veteran monsters in the welterweight diviision....but for 17,he`s a beast...

more of a slashing puncher at 17 than a thudding puncher...

you can see the talent...if this kid gets stronger, which he will, look out....

haven`t enjoyed watching a young fighter as much in a long time...
