am thinking about playing ruiz on saturday night. looking at the lines (from olympic)

roy jones (-205)
john ruiz (+175)

roy jones by tko, ko, or DQ (+285)
roy jones by decision (-150)
joh ruiz by tko,ko, or DQ (+235)
joh ruiz by decision (+215)

i normally not one to care or bet on "how someone gets the job done", so long as they get it done and win for me.

but in this fight, im looking at ruiz at (+175), but if im going to bet ruiz, can anyone give me a reason to bet him at (+175) to win, because the KO/TKO/DQ just makes complete sense to me, and its offered at (+235)

by this, i mean:

i see NO WAY IN HELL that ruiz out-points jones. if the fight goes the distance, i feel like ruiz has no chance. youre not gonna out-point roy jones.

the only way ruiz wins the fight is by hitting jones with a few clean shots, essentially knocking jones out.

im not necessarily looking for an opinion on the fight (although please feel free to offer ANY feedback), but im just looking for someone to say "ruiz COULD out-point/out-box jones and win the fight without it being in knockout fashion"

just seems like anyone betting ruiz really should consider the KO/TKO/DQ at (+235) because (to me) that will be the only way ruiz COULD win the fight.

I am not the boxing guru, but I 100% side with you here. If Ruiz is gonna win it won't be by decision, cause I doubt he has the stamina to fight 12 rounds with the lighter more agile Jones Jr. Ruiz by TKO KO or DQ is the only way to go if you like Ruiz. GL ;)

This fight has me more stumped than any fight in the last 10 years. Personally, if I was to take Ruiz, I would take him to win by KO at better odds (the closer to fight time, the lower the margin imo).....Out of all the different scenarios I've played out in this fight, Ruiz by decision is the least possible. Only possible way is if Ruiz floors Jones about 5 or 6 times and then Jones dances around the ring for the rest of the fight to prove he can "hang in there" at heavyweight. Don't think that will happen though.

Here's a likely scenario for Ruiz by decision: Jones and Ruiz dance around for a few rounds, each getting in some jabs but no meaningful punches. Jones decides to mix it up a little bit and gets caught with a good body shot. Not wanting to risk getting kayoed, Jones decides to hit and run and pick his moments. Ruiz ends up chasing him around the ring and keeps the jab going. The judges usually reward the guy who appears to be the aggressor (see: De la Hoya vs. Trinidad).

"the bunker"
let me throw in a note of caution

let me throw in a note of caution

remember a very important fact.....don king is involved...if this fight turns into a track meet and ruiz is chasing for 12 rounds, scoring may be subjective....we all remember how both morales-barrera decisions were bass-ackwards...the holifield/ruiz decisions were a little strange(but holi is king`s boy-don retained a portion of the heavyweight championship regardless of what happened))....and remember that ruiz is also don king`s boy.......jones is not stupid enough to get into bed with king....so,if this thing is considered even reasonably close(a sloppy hold-filled fight )where the judges decide whether they like the boxer or the guy that forces the action, you never know how it will shake out..duane ford and jerry roth are judging(and i don`t like or trust either)..and in close decisions,i always lean don king....just playing devils advocate....the don king factor is scaring me into playing this very small......g.l.

p.s.....i also have read at several reputable boxing sites that roy has said that he will have some of"his boys" at ringside in case ruiz gets dirty and turns this into a foul-filled brawl.....i would not be the least bit surprised if we have an atypical ending here....i really sense that something very strange could break out....a disqualification,a no decision or a riot would not shock me.....and i`m not kidding....

My opinion is in the minority from most, but I played the following 5 bets #133-#137 laying $50 on each at the Greek.
(#133) JONES JR round 8 - laying $50 to win $800...
(#134) JONES JR round 9 - laying $50 to win $750...
(#135) JONES JR round 10 - laying $50 to win $750...
(#136) JONES JR round 11 - laying $50 to win $700...
(#137) JONES JR round 12 - laying $50 to win $700...

What the hell, felt like taking a shot. GOOD LUCK TO ALL...
