Mich St. buzzer shot, Ok St. 2nd half 10-2 run for Fresno end of game can't even get a rebound, Cuse outscored by 20 sec half,
Miami can't make a shot , turnovers final 2 minutes blow 2nd half
Zags, Pepp last night. How are some these teams in top 20 ?
I tell you, I have been a miserable s.o b the last few weeks in regards to sports, totally disgusted. Another easy four figure day
for me. Teams I have been on can't put 2 halves together, teams I am against this afternoon go wire to wire. Not an interesting read, but good to get it off my chest. Vent away if you wish!!!!

with the exception of Miami, which I was also on, you are always laying points with these teams........this time of year there are so many close games and most subpar teams are not afraid of the bigger guys anymore and play fearless which gives us lots of good games......i was getting my ass kicked the last couple weeks but this week started playing about 2/3rd dogs and it has paid off big time.......

Tough Doc, Dr.Freeze might give that a try, seems like when I mix it up lately end up on wrong side. Might have to give it extended run and see the results. Mia/OK St game and second half plays
Mich St. 5k day. Glad to see you were able to turn your play around for +.

yeah just hang tough.....i made myself think about 5 times harder when laying points and try to find more reasons to take them instead.......in a lot of these games laying 3 does not seem like much but with so many games going to the buzzer -- it IS a lot......after all, how many buzzer beaters do we see this time of year normally?

earlier in the year teams get intimidated by top dogs......eventually they sac up and hit back......

I hate to admit it, but the last 2 weeks or so in baskets is the toughest to figure that I have run into in quite some time .........and I have been doing this for well over 25 years. The previous Thurs.
night, I played 5 Games......lost the first 3 by 1/2 point each !! Lost the next one by 1. Won the last game by 35. (ACTION POINTS, where are you ???) The next nite, only played 2 games. Lost them both , one by 1 pt. and the other by 2. But, I havent vented it yet, it does no good as you win some that way & lose some that way. And it just goes on & on.
So, guys, you are not alone...........for every loser, there is a winner...........so, winners, where are you?? Speak up !!
Oh, I see, your name is Mr. Booker & you prefer to just sit undercover & rake in the $$. Well, that's OK, we'll hit em next time, even harder yet .........THE HITMAN

**And the 3 at the buzzer cost me the Mich. St. game today, also.
Yesterday's 4 games worth of woes included a 1/2 point loss by Wyoming & another one also, a loser by 1/2 point by Ill. Chi. !!Game 3 was a nice win by Boise and I got a 1/2 point win out of UNLV.

Go back and review

Take a look at the outcome of Saturday's card

Take notice of how many games were within 3 points of the number.

Vegas has had a lot of time to know these teams

I realize that stuff about hindsight, but this is not a good time to try and chase your losses

Conference play will be even more bizarre

Noticed it myself Buddy, just been on the wrong end of those 3 pts. LOL for a little while now. Chasing not my style, chip away
pick spots to step it up along the way. Appreciate the input.

I aint having that great a weekend myself.

I aint having that great a weekend myself.

I got lucky yesterday and hit a parlay to win 1600 with Temple, UNC, Cincinati, and ND money line. I have given half of that back already. I guess you could call that bad money management.

The Webmaster that runs this site has the right idea

Simply put:

THE NCAA IS AS STRAIGHT AS A 3 DOLLAR BILL !!!

Look at FSU - Duke a few days ago -

The line opened at 29.5
was bet down to 26.5

FSU calls timeout twice in the last minute while down by 31-

Which is where they finished

If someone didn't have some $$$ on the game, why the hell did they call timeout down by 31?

I called a talk show in Miami and old Eddy K told me that I was way out there - don't think sooooooooooo . .............

Hey Doc Raider...............Eddie K has a great show out of S Fla. Now, there is a true lover of dogs. Sometimes, tho , he has no patience with those whose opinions differ. Still, alot of winners come thru there at one time or another, and I consider his insight excellent. THE HITMAN

**Buddy, u may be right..........Vegas has been very close lately.
I am not sure how I am going to handle the next few weeks. To take a break seems like the prudent answer. I will probably cut down to 1 or 2 games per nite & perhaps only play 1/2 units until (hopefully) things straighten out. I dont play with mortgage or meal money (not even with the mortgage money for 2006 !!), so I am not crushed here and dont have the immediate need for revenge. Money management is as big a key as picking winners, so I will fight back with what I hope to be good money management.

Stew congrats on the hit, your still playing w/house money :) .
Dr. Raider didn't catch that game but i read something in the forum about the questionable timeouts. Got to admit some of
the things you see in sports make you wonder. Teams get inside the number, get close call timeout then do not foul? Or in FB a team will drive the ball in when there well up and catch the number instead of running out the clock, or in the reverse situation take a knee at the goal line. Like to be on the right side of these things more often, as I am sure all of us would. GL!

Should not have surprised you that SU got pounded in second half. They lost dd half time leads to Rutgers and WV in last eight days. They have no size and no muscle. They are worn down big time. Their gas tank has hit empty. 25 minutes is about all they can give right now.

Vegas Baby !!
Me Tooooo !!!

Me Tooooo !!!

I had OK ST today in a teaser, getting 5 points. They couldn't rebound a missed free throw in the last minute. I believe they lost 3 of them. Then, with 3 seconds left, they miss a dunk, (got mugged), and don't get the points, or the foul.

The game was tied with 2:25 to go. I felt good. So , I lose my
NC ST +2
OK ST +5
NORL +7
MRYD -8

by 1 stinkin' point. I'm becoming much to frequent in these venting threads!!

No shit HITMAN look at some of the close calls I've had, my bookie's lines are hard as they get, they move right on the money with vegas's.

This past week:

Lost the UCLA/USC game by 1/2 had ucla -2.5
Lost Ucla/Nova by 1/2 had nova -1.5 ouch
Lost La tech/hawaii game by 1/2 had tech -4.5
Lost MSU/OSU over 131.5 by a 1/2
Won byu/unlv game by a half, had byu -2.5
Pushed on virginia clemson game -14

It's been a grind to say the least

I'd like to complain about my "chalk Picks"......

Texas goes up by 16 pts, and then they win by only 9 pts. I think someone on here, I think it was teddy or freeze said colorado had a dunk at the very endiing. Lead went from 11 to 9, and my -9.5 spread loses. This is the second time Texas has done this to me.

Okay, I forget the rest, but majority of my chalk picks lost just llike this. Almost always the favorite teams end up winning by more than the point spreads during sometime in the game, but then they start to play "not to lose" instead of playing "to keep winning."

Oh yah, I remember one more game, I had syracuse -3, they take the double digit lead on pitt, only to blow it in the second half. Did you see Shumpert, the Stevie Wonder look-alike, holding his head in his hands on the bench as he watched Pitt kicking his teammate's butts. He was probably thinking ' why did I come back to Syracuse, I could have been making tons of money and be playing in the Rookie vs sophmore game in the NBA about this time, instead of playing with mediocre team mates.' Jimmy Bohein, should be firing up his team instead of just sitting there like an overgrown Dilbert.

Close to the number

Close to the number

Now is a really good time to start looking at middles. I noticed this weekend that 4 or 5 games had 2-4 point swings, depending on the book. I know yesterday I saw moves on the Michigan State game and Miami/BC total that would have resulted in winning middles. Middles can provide "action" and limit losses, especially when games are so unpredictable. True, you can only play the games with the discrepancies, but, it might limit you from playing games you would normally lose. JMO...
