Looking for someone who shares an interest in gambling to go to the riverboat sometime or get a beer and discuss sports betting. It bores my wife and my friends don't gamble much.

Jack--

Springfield is a ways from the Quad Cities-- about 3.5 hrs or so. It might be easier to head to St Louis, as there are Riverboats there as well.

Where you at Big Dog, and how often do you come to the Quads? I'll grab a beer with you and talk sports gambling....

Hey, MadJack,

I don't know how "near" you'll be, but us here in Springpatch have an Off Track Betting place. And there's a riverboat casino 80 miles north and another one 90 miles south. Let me know and we'll do it.

Dave

thanks

Well, redsfan, I don't get to the Quads much anymore. I actually used to live in Davenport (Eldridge) and Muscatine and Cedar Rapids back in the late 70's/early 80's. So you are close...it is exactly 171 miles from here to the end of I-74 at the Mississippi. But tell me...do they still have the Bix Beiderbeck Festival? That would be almost worth a trip.

Later on, Dave

you betcha they do....it just keeps getting bigger and stronger every year, too....and it's still the MAIN reason that Davenport is so against permanant flood protection, is the boats that come in from EVERYWHERE to watch the Bix from the river side.
