I've never been someone to take medication for anything, even headaches but I think I have ADHD and it gets in my way with work too much.
Does anyone here take anything natural to help with it?
Do you have any of the following on during work:
1. Instant Messenger
2. Email alerts
3. Cell phone
4. Text messaging
5. Incoming phone calls
6. People stopping in your office
7. Discussion boards or other websites with actively updated content
8. Music - either from radio or online station
9. Fluorescent lights
10. Windows to the outside where there is activity
There are so many distractions that we have to deal with on a second by second basis, that I don't see how anyone can accurately be defined as ADHD anymore. I'm not saying that it doesn't exist, but I think it's WAY over-diagnosed.
My business partner is one who has some symptons. If he allows the things listed above to creep in, they completely take over his thought process. If he shuts them out, he functions as normal.
We need to learn to disconnect more.
