Anyone her mess with recreational drones?

Helping a friend, his Koi pond is being stalked by great blue herons.

These birds are 4 foot tall and have a 5 foot wing span.
They are great fisherman, and protected federally. They are a horrible nuisance to fish farming.

Our thought are that if they were confronted by a whirring controlled drone a few times, they may decide it is not worth it.

Decoys DO NOT work.

Anybody do drones?

It is a lot of bang for the buck and with the auto return feature, seems idiot proof. (that will be a big plus).

Imagine 2 VERY determined 65 year olds with limited techno skills tying to outwit Hungry, Crafty Big Bird....
