I can take a 20-30 minute power nap some weekend afternoons and feel rested as hell. :mj18:

If I sleep too long I feel even more like crap. Really just after late nights for the most part. Sometimes even during the week if I have a home office day. :0003

I know it may be more for older guys, but I did it even 20 years ago sometimes. Anyone else?

I take 30 minutes to an hour just about everyday when I get home from work. I get home early about 3:30. You are right about napping too long when I do I feel like crap but 15 minutes to an hour do me good.

Naps are good.for the aging brain......

When I feel the need for an afternoon "power nap", I turn on Doctor Phil....something about his all-knowing, monotonous,holier-than-thou voice, puts me to sleep within minutes...20-30 minute nap does wonders.

"A recent study in the research journal Sleep examined the benefits of naps of various lengths and no naps. The results showed that a 10-minute nap produced the most benefit in terms of reduced sleepiness and improved cognitive performance. A nap lasting 30 minutes or longer is more likely to be accompanied by sleep inertia, which is the period of grogginess that sometimes follows sleep.

By now you're probably thinking about ways to incorporate naps into your daily routine. Keep in mind that getting enough sleep on regular basis is the best way to stay alert and feel your best. But when fatigue sets in, a quick nap can do wonders for your mental and physical stamina."
