Was at home the other day and came across some baseball and basketball cards and was wondering if anyone could give me some value one of these two and if anyone is interested in them. Don't have a need for either.

I found a 94 Classic Dicky V's PTPers Jason Kidd Autographed card #PTP2. I figure this is the more valuable of the two and well my roommate thinks its worth a 100 bucks or so. Anyone no? or want it? Ths crap is just sitting here.

and

The other is a Roger Clemens Topps Rookie Card.

If anyone has any knowledge of what there worth or if anyone would be interested let me know. They were just sitting in my room at my house. Both are in card cases and in good condition

Thanks in advance

Felonious are you serious? I know its a rare one because its one of the few that are actually signed by Jason Kidd himself, its not like a fake gold stamp. he signed it and his number on it.

I don't know a whole lot about the card market, but from what I heard, it isn't as profitable as it used to be. I have some old limited edition NFL cards with the likes of Johny Unitas, Len Dawson, Joe Namath and some others I can't think of right now, but they were all stars of that era, took them to a card shop a few years back and the owner offered me $12 for all of them. I think he was probably trying to "jam" me, but I wasn't going to let him have them for that price. Might as well hold them, cause you probably only going to get a couple of value meals at the golden arches out of them right now. Good Luck

boi, missed the part about it being autographed. even then, it should price well under $100. did you personally have him sign it or acquire it from someone else?

Captain Crunch hit the nail on the head. Old cards don't hold nearly the value they did 10 years ago. It's ashame but because so many different card companies started popping up in the 90's, it has decreased the value in almost every old card. They continue to jack up the price for every "next new thing" in the sports world (ie. LeBron James) making the circulation of old cards descend in trade shows. It's terrible for novice collector's because I have a ton of cards, even unopened boxes that are worthless after all these years of collecting dust. :(

The sports card market is still doing well although graded cards are where the money is. A graded card is a raw card which has been rated based on condition and slabbed by one on several grading companies. PSA (Professional Sports Authenticators) is the most recognized in my opinion. The grade of a card makes a HUGE difference. For example, a 1980 Topps Rickey Henderson rookie card that is not graded may sell for $100 but one sold a while back that was graded a PSA 10 (Gem mint and the best grade possible) for $10,000+. The Clemens rookie is a good card but the condition of it is the best question. Check out the message boards on this link. Alot of good information...http://forums.collectors.com/categories.cfm?catid=11
