I need to make a couple of business trips to Africa coming up. Our company sold software to the telecommunications companies over there. I am headed to Bamako in Mali and the country of Gabon on Africa's west coast. Mali is mostly Sahara Desert in the North and I have read it one of the places where the al qaeda has a growing presence. They executed a French national hostage there back in July.
I have read up on the basics but I am looking for any first hand experiences from madjackers or your
acquaintances. More than one of the hotel reviews I read pointed out there were many mosquitos in the hotel rooms. I think I am more worried about disease than muslim extremists (especially since I plan on getting down with the broads as I always do.) I am going to get a half dozen shots tomorrow including malaria immunization.
If anyone has any info on the culture, traditions, or can sell me their leftover african monorail tickets I would appreciate it.
