If so question for you. My daughter bought a 2005 Toyota Sienna from an individual working under a dealers license out of Orlando Florida. After 3 weeks the transmission is going out confirmed by a transmission shop. 3k to get fixed. Even though the vehicle was bought as is can there be any recourse with the dealer being the purchase is less than 30 days old. A friend at work is suggesting that there is a law for such occurences. Any knowlege of such would be appreciated.

Thanks

Call 1-855-273-9139 - Florida lemon law lawyer. They can tell if you have a good case or not.

Was it a salvage title?

Thanks for the info Mckenzie. Appreciate the reply man. +After doing some more research it is what I thought. When you purchase a As Is vehicle. You are on your own. From Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicle website:

As-Is Or Warranty

All dealers are required by Federal law to post a "buyers guide" in the window of each vehicle offered for sale. The buyers guide notifies the buyer that there is a warranty or that the vehicle is being sold "AS-IS" with no warranty of any kind.

In the case of an "AS-IS" sale, once you drive the vehicle from the dealership, it belongs to you, despite any problems the vehicle may have. If the vehicle breaks down after only a few minutes of leaving the dealership, the repairs are YOUR responsibility.

Looks like Dad having to pony up 3k. She does not have it.

Sorry, dude. I would make that call, anyway, though. You've got nothing to lose and $3000 to gain.

Can you take the junked transmission ride and trade with the dealer from which you bought it from? For a new ride? Just a thought.
