Dear Freinds:

I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to everyone here at MadJacks. In the past, I have always kept my Free Picks page as up-to-date as possible. The longest I have let the page lapse was normally no more than a couple of days. However, for reasons beyond my control, I am not been able to update the page as often as I would like. Therefore, what you see now is of no use to you in handicapping games -- either in the NFL or NBA.

Since I am in Mississippi this entire month, it has been difficult to establish connections and research the games properly. Those of you who travel know how difficult it can be on the road with a laptop. The lack of Intenet connections here in Tunica also makes quite costly. The hotel charges me $16 for 20 minutes of AOL access. The AOL 1-800 does not even work here. Needless to say, this makes researching online next to impossible.

When I get back to Washington next week, I have a ton of material to post. I will do a lengthy breakdown of ALL the Super Bowl propositions. I am also focusing on NBA totals and expect to do very well for the rest of the basketball season.

Once again, my apologies to those of you who have visited the page and have not seen new material. I promise to make it up to you next week and in the months ahead.

SIDE NOTE: One highlight of this trip so far was seeing casino mogul (former owner of Vegas World and the Stratosphere) walk in to the poker room, sit down at a no-limit poker game, and buy-in for a million dollars in chips. A million dollars sitting right there, ready to be plucked away. Seeing Stupak with two full racks of $5K chips was s site to behold. What's even more incredible is THAT WASN'T EVEN THE BIGGST GAME IN THE ROOM! Poker legends Doyle Brunson and Chip Reece were playing Chinese Poker against a couple of fish for $5K a point. I think every $5K chip in the casino was on those two tables.

See you soon,

-- Nolan Dalla

The only thing that you need to apologize about is that I'm stuck in my office while you get to watch all of the poker action.;)

Nolan good to see you back.

Your writeups for the WPO have been some of the best writeups I have ever read. Thanks for keeping us informed on what going on there, your hard work is appreciated.

Good to hear from you. I too enjoy youre write ups on the NFL. That was pretty cool seeing all those 5K chips on one table, a site to remember I'm sure.
