The lights go out, we go to commercial.

I'm sweating out Utah State -9.5. They are up 11, the refs refuse to call a foul, so we turn the ball over to provide Hawaii with one last open shot.

Cheers to Hawaii for not being good enough to make it, but how many fishy endings can there be?

These ESPN games are strange. I had taken Duke moneyline 2h the other night at Va Tech, so I had -13 for the game laying a little juice. Duke just had to dribble it out around halfcourt up 15 with 19 seconds left or so. Instead they let Va Tech steal the ball at halfcourt and give up an easy layup to push the 2h moneline.

Are these just coincidences? Most likely so... but the lights going out and then a strange no-call/turnover, and lots of money could have changed hands in this LATE ESPN Hawaii CHASE YOUR MONEY game.

If something IS going on, then who is in control? The Duke example is certainly a stretch, since it only mattered for the 2h moneyline and nothing else. But it was funny that the last two ESPN games I've bet I've had to sweat very odd endings.

Anyone have any insight?

same situation as u on utah st. -9.5. to me thats just gambling, shit like that happens, it's happen to me so much times that i just expect it. as for the no call, the refs know that its game over, and they just want to get the game over, that's why there was a no call. even tho, that would have made a difference for guys like us.

I agree with Seoul. On Sunday I had a parlay with Wash. and the U. They had it until that foul with :00 and Hernandez sent it to OT with 3 free throws. With the amount of college games out there, you are going to get games very close to the spread, and it is much easier to scrutinize how it could go one way or another, as opposed to football.

i think a good played on a smaller div team could make thousands every game because they know better than we do how good the team is and if they are up to playing that team and if it comes down to the wire they can control their betting destiny.

Its happened before prolly going on right now

I think there are probably fixes every night in college basketball. There are too many crazy endings. :hitwithro

I don't know what it is but it happens way too often. It could be the linesmaker has simulated each game down to the bucket or the games are fixed (doubt that and prefer the first theory). Also had Washington -2, up 3 with 2 seconds left and they have a 3 point foul called against them...had about 3 parlays with them. Also had a 5 teamer and 3 teamer with Hawaii +10...actually fell asleep and see they lose by 11!!! :cursin:

Things have to fall our way sooner or later...hopefully!

I was in a bar about twenty years ago, on a road trip with other gamblers. These kids came in and you could tell they were basketball players. We had a few and had made a big score,so I was playing the big shot and said give them what ever they want. They ordered burgers & sodas. We started talking sports and ball and who they played for. We were talking about our gambling and one of my guys asked them if they thought any games are fixed. They all said that they never personally knew of any but they were sure there are games that are fixed. The one thing that I will always remember is this one kid said,f--k you guys. One of my guys said, what the f---k is your problem. This player said we were stupid, and did not know what we were doing and laughed at us. He said that he knew what the line was and if the line was close and the game was over, if he had a chance to miss a shot he would. He said that the people that bet on him were not his friends,he was not getting anything,so they were not going to make money off him. You never know why people do what they do.

I wonder how far this guy went knowingly playing his game according to the lines instead of putting forth his best effort.. I dont see why this guy would care unless people always approached him about having a game to make them money... either way, he should just be focused on the game... i know if i was playing, my mind would be doing whatever necessary to get paid for playing and i dont mean shaving points

I know there were instances of fixing ncaa basketball games in the past, such as Arizona State.

But now, with the rise in offshore, online sports betting in the past few years, it seems like it would be very easy for players to bet on their own games.
The players themselves don't have to have an account. It would be easy for them to just have a good friend bet online.

Most kids are not going to the NBA. Who is to stop Central Michigan athletes from fixing games? It's just too easy. If a kid can make $10,000 a game during the season, by the end of the year he'd make well over 6 figures.

It just seems so easy to do. You just have to open 20 online accounts at 20 different books and then bet $500 a game. One $500 bet at each book won't move the line at all. No one will notice.

thats a good point, but most of those kids don't have that kind of money to begin with and probably aren't knowledgable when it comes to online gambling and creating numerous accounts

i think something like that is very possible but on a much smaller scale... probably not looking to make six figures but provide themselves with some easy cash
