never mind his remarks. this is beyond bush, and we will need about 300-400 thou additional troops on stand-by to occupy certain countries, as selected air strikes don't do the whole job. how fast we will move on this, i don't know.

this is a real war, and there are too many people and countries aiding and abetting. it is also a real, but sad eye opener for our mideast policy.

there are potential bombing and invasions of lybia and afghanistan for a start.

potential terrorist attacks on selected targets in "easy" third world countries may follow in a few days or weeks. this was diabolic intelligence at its worst; extremely well coordinated and designed to kill as many people as possible. there are probably thousands, if not tens of thousand of religious fanatics willing to commit suicidal acts like today's.

air transportation has come to a standstill, banking partially in suspense. communications is the real sensitive issue here; the one thing that can stop all, and has to be safeguarded by all means.

there is much secrecy at the moment and all is not known. there are too many people all over, like the sec. of defense in bogota, who should have cancelled whatever engagement he had this morning, before the attack.
just about the whole defense and related have gone to the mattresses and are "incommunicated".

u.s. dept. of defense was on a semi-alert by 6am est or so, but never expected that type of attack.

without question, this is a direct result of the escalation of the weapons and attacks in the middle east and it just took a giant step today.

We all knew something of this nature was going to happen sooner or later and it WON"T be the last.

Lots of questions are left unanswered.
How the hell did they get into the cockpits ??
If they were only armed with knives/boxcutters (if thats the case) why couldn't they be over
taken?

I'm still stunned.

God Bless the victims and their families

You must remember that those "security screeners" make minimal wages. Most are retirees. Sure they are trained to an extent, but not all weapons are going to be detected through xrays by the human eye. Humans err there is no doubt about that.
Being that the wife works for a major airline (as did I)
we fly alot and I've seen these screeners pull people aside and search thier bags only to pull out a dildo. My bags were search both in Jamaica and Hawaii (Sega Game Gear)
set them off. Airline Security was/is virtually nonexistent. You now know that first hand, those of us in the airline industry always knew that.
You think they search/ xray inflights bags?
NO, they walk behind the ticket counter and walk through the "ramp".
Never will it be 100% safe.
