I am working, for Albertsons. Out there, weighs on my mind. At least I am getting more customers thanking me for working. Warehouse still way behind. I could only order 300 for my dairy. I could have ordered 1,000+ easily. The past few weeks seems like being stressed over Thanksgiving and Christmas seem quaint.
This brings up a VERY interesting topic: Grocery Supply Chain Planning
With everyone stocking up for end of days, the short term financial picture must look awesome for grocers. But, what happens when the stores continue buying to support this customer barrage, then end up sitting on inventory everyone has already loaded up on? This has to be factored in on perishables and non-perishables alike. In one case, they expire and you'll be throwing it out. In the other, you're sitting on inventory dollars that won't move for weeks/months.
