What will the line be on Det at Chi this week, will there even be a line?

Fury cut thier back-up QB[too bad because he was very bad] and the starter Miller is out for two weeks[too bad because he was raw and erratic]. They have a third string QB signed to practice squad but he still needs a formal contract proposal. That guy was third string on Grand Rapids, whoever the qb is, he will have no continuity with offense[Gordon is sorely missed]. Of course the Fury offense has been offensive this year. The coach appears to have lost his mind at this point and the team might be on the brink of quitting[if they already havent] Chicago blows out everyone at home and if we get line under 10 on this game I would be shocked but if we do than what other play could you make this week b/f putting money on Chicago?

Davis brings Semptimphelter back to Fury

June 4, 2002

His wish was granted, seven weeks later than he had hoped.

Scott Semptimphelter, the Detroit Fury's quarterback last year, is back with the team. Coach Mouse Davis acquired Semptimphelter in a trade Monday with the New York Dragons for future considerations. Semptimphelter played one game with New York.

"I'm happy to be coming back to Detroit," he said in a statement. "I really want to get this thing turned around and get to the level we were playing at in the second half of the season last year."

Semptimphelter led the expansion Fury to a playoff berth last season with a career-high 3,508 passing yards and 76 touchdowns. But Davis dumped him in the off-season and signed Rickey Foggie, who lasted four games before being waived.

Davis wasn't sure how Semptimphelter would come back from knee surgery and was concerned by his league-high 21 interceptions. After the Fury fell to 1-6, though, Davis turned again to Semptimphelter.

"I had talked with him several times before," Davis said. "Obviously, I didn't make the right decision because we didn't get better at the position. I screwed up. I didn't want to go backwards. Still, it's a decision I made that put us in a poor position. I didn't think he would be healthy going in, and he's shown he is healthy from the knee surgery."

Drew Miller, Foggie's backup, suffered an injured left ankle in Saturday's loss to Georgia and likely is out for the season. Charles Puleri, who replaced Miller, was cut Sunday.

Davis said Nick Browder, who joined the practice squad last week, will battle Semptimphelter for the starting job.

Semptimphelter for Fury...

Semptimphelter for Fury...

Played mop up action in NY vs Dal game[5-12 53yds 1 TD] and has been on the bench otherwise. Led the league in picks last year[21]. He is by far the best QB Det will run out this year, but that isn't saying much, let's see what the line is.

last year's game at CHI Det won

WR's Boyd and Gordon did most of damage for Fury last year[both arent around now]. Chi had 5 turnovers Det 2.
