No way Arizona covers this line tonight. As an Arizona alum who has watched every game this year, I am not at all impressed by this team.

What is Vegas missing? One of our offensive leaders and arguably the best defender in the PAC-10, Chris Rodgers was kicked off the team yesterday, one of our better frosh guards JP Prince is questionable, and another one of our top players Jawann McClellan is listed as doubtful. Add to the fact that Stanford has actually looked decent of late beating CAL by 14 points and beating the Oregon schools who just swept us.

I do feel that UofA will come out inspired after their recent losses at the Oregon?s, and try to prove that they don?t need Chris Rodgers, however I just don?t see them putting Stanford away tonight, let alone by 11.

If you weren?t looking at this game I highly recommend you at least check it out, and or put a little money on Stanford +11.

I see UofA either losing this one straight up, or more likely winning by 4-8 points.

Today, Arizona senior guard Chris Rodgers was officially kicked out of the U of A program.

Rodgers' career at Arizona began as strangely as it ended. After signing his Letter of Intent to be a Wildcat, when school began, it didn't look like Rodgers would be admitted to the UA.

Even though he had a good enough GPA, Rodgers' SAT wasn't high enough to meet the school's qualifications. However, after Rodgers was diagnosed with a learning disability, he was admitted into the school.

From his freshman season forward, there were ongoing issues with attitude problems and differences with teammates. On several different occasions over the last four seasons, players went to the coaching staff because of problems with Rodgers.

Sources say that Arizona had a great practice on Wednesday, the team's first without Rodgers on board. People believe that his dismissal is addition by subtraction because the attitude problems were destroying the team's chemistry.

Rodgers will probably forever be remembered as an extremely talented basketball player that never could put it together in real games. Incredibly, Rodgers was probably the team's best pickup player over the last four seasons.

The reason is that Rodgers' game was always more suited to be one-on-one. He didn't fit into the team game and UA fans never got the opportunity to see how talented he was.

At the same time, no one realized the chemistry problems he caused as well. Without naming names, it's safe to say that several of the players are relieved of the dismissal.

GOAZCATS.com will have much more on Rodgers' dismissal in the coming days. As of right now, the coaches aren't allowed to comment and there probably won't be another statement from Lute Olson until after tomorrow's game against Stanford.

It's safe to say that much more will be released at that time.

Great article. Thanks for posting. If Prince & McCllelan play I am laying the points.

If I had to guess, I'd say that one of the two play.

One good thing for UofA however is that freshman redshirt FENDI ONOBUN will likely play tonight. Why we red shirted him to begin with I have no idea. His nick name is "Fen Diesle". The kid is big and can play. Kind of your typical college tweener player. He's 6'7 w/o a great outside shot so that limits him at SG/SF, and he's not quit big enough to be a PF. However he has been progressing very well in practice and should be a great player for UofA for years to come.

That being said tonight will be his first action so i wouldn't expect much from him.

prince SHOULD be suited up and play tonight (however he hasnt been used much but will likely be needed now that rodgers is gone)

jawaan is highly ? with an injured wrist....my guess is he doesnt play

either way laying 11 with arizona is a nightmare

prince-? with an injury
jawaan-? with a wrist injury only played in 1.5 games and is not in game shape
fendi- rs pulled tonight? hasnt played a game
walters-will start at c, highly unproductive thus far and has no confidence
shakur-really up or really down
ivan-solid but unspectacular
hassan-solid but a scorer not a shooter
dillon-fox-worthless

with the injuries, the roster, and the way this team has been playing their last 4 there is no way in hell i would recommend laying 11....hell i see this as a 50-50 game to win and the line is 11?????

no thanks

stanford ml wouldnt be a bad bet

Good take.

Are you a member at goazcats.com? If not check it out, it's a great UofA site.

I 100% agree with what you said about our team. However after getting embarrassed at the Oregon's and with Rodgers departure, which some believe is a good thing, I certainly see Hassan steping up big here along with Mustafa.

Might eb the homer in me, but i think Arizona wins this game tonight, but not by 11.
