Going to the game. Love who injured in practice before the UL Laf game did not play the other nite. Drinnon is out for the season. Tex offense goes thru Love and this kid has developed into a 6'9 scorer inside the paint. He has the same move as a lefty. Fakes right on drop step and turns around and shoots his lefty bank shot. He is the bobcats leading scorer so really don't know if he is playing today. He is not listed any injured list but he wasn't listed in there last game vs UL Laf. He was hurt in practice the night before. I\He was in street clothes on the bench.
Ark St -1 over Texas St **
That is w/o Love . If Love is playing both teams are struggling .. Texas D and its 3 pt shooting aren't what they used to be. The blackout the other nite had no effect on UL Laf because they turned the lites on at the jump ball . Fuch the Laf pt gd was spectactular and Ark has Umass tranfer Dominguez who is 6'9.. After watching Tex St the past 3 or 4 home games I know their weakness's better then the ArkSt coach . So I will lean for a small play Ark St this afternoon . I took out my last years notes and I had 3 stars next to Fields there gd . I scribbled to much and can't understand my notes. Tex has Benson a dead eye shooter who UL laf gave him no open shots If Ark St coach gives him room to shoot Bobcats could win Tex St has trouble hitting the 3 and open jumpers.

NC St -4.5 over Vir Tech ***
Baylor -1.5 over Texas ****
Navy -4.5 over Army **
Temple -3 over Rice **
TCU -3 over IOwa St **
UCF +16.5 over Houston **
Loy Chi -3.5 over Fordham **
UAB -4.4 over ECU **

way to many games today. Skip some of them.. No time to explain them Have babysitting and uber responsibilities before going to the Tex St game this afternoon ..
Good luck today

Ark St won 79-72 in an ugly game Love did play but watched in warmups, although in uniform and he took part in warmups he looked like he wasn't 100% so took the Red Devils and won . The game was ugly with terrible ugly basketball. Refs had trouble blowing the whistle because it was so physical . Huge crowd and neither team could shoot the outside shot. But Ark led the way from start to finish. Ark St players were mad at coach and subtitions and some sat at the end of the bench during the huddle time out. If I was the Ark coach those guys would never go in the game.. Love played maybe half the game and never saw the ball. Ark had there only white player on the team Avery Felts who hit some 3's and all were swishes. The UMass transfer Domingguez blocked a few shots and shot 3 or 4 airballs and was a head case. But he is talented as hell . Very skinny at 6'9 and I amazed the refs didn't hit him with a few T's. It was an ugly sloopy game and Texas St keeps losing and im covering those games They play their next 2 games away and then have 3 in a row at home.So Bama So Miss and MAC challenge game. Ark St has some talent but way to may head cases, and were very selfish. I know Domingueze was a solid player for UMass last yr but after watching him tonight I think UMass is glad he used to the transfer portal to leave Amherst.
Think I was 4-4 overall Watched the high lites of the Baylor Texas final play when I got home, . Baylor allowed a 96 foot layup at the buzzer to lose to Texas. Coach .go zone or at least make the dribbler make one pass. How do you lose a game with seconds left and allow a dribbler to drive the length of the court and score and lose the game at the buzzer. in Basketball 101 you make the dribbler at least make one pass or go match up zone and don't foul.. Lose by a jumper shot not a layup. Didn't see the game but just saw the last play . maybe the lead up to it was different .. back tomorrow keep winning going against the Bobcats . Love looked about 75% tonight. He never touched the ball. In the 2nd half on the 1st play he got the ball down low and banked it in So I was sure the Tex St coach told his players that at half time Yet he never touched it again.

After reading todays newspaper Texas's Hunter rebounded the missed shot and dribbled the length of the court for the winning layup. He didn't call a time out and I agree with him. A time out makes the opposing coach time to set up a defensive scheme/ Smart just rebounding and taking off. I didn't know all the facts yesterday but just saw the winning lay up on TV. Drew is an outstanding coach for Baylor and thought he made a mistake letting someone dribble the entire court and lose the game on a layup. That didn't happen . Kudo's to Hunter for not calling a time out and just reacting to the rebound. I'm sure he knew he had enough time to dribble the length and hit a winning lay up at the buzzer. Texas won 75-73.. i remember at a clinic Hubie Brown always talked about " make sure if you call a time out at the end of the game ' your letting your opponent coach time to set up a Defense,, its better if you know what to do then let the defense who doesn't know . Hubie also preached end practice on last seconds plays not suicides and FT shooting drills . I cannot tell you how many games I won in the last 10 seconds of games and many times the sport writers or other coaches felt we were lucky. It was never luck.. We worked on that exact play every day with 5 seconds 10 seconds ,full court side court under the basket etc The next day in practice the news paper article would quote the opposing coach saying something like " they were lucky at the end of the game" I would start our next practice ,the next day to my team with the newspaper in my hand reading the quote out loud .. " today we are going to start practice with our lucky last second play because they think it was luck. Yet we practice that 5 second play everyday the 3 second play the home run play the 10 second full court play.. Everything I stole from Hubie Brown so its not original .. No games today have a great day though
