Here it is.Title was

Beating The Odds

"Frustrated by your improvement? If you think you've tried everything in your quest to a lower handicap without much success, maybe your problem is a lack of self motivation. You could do what Ian Davies of England did:put your money where your mouth is.
Davies, who had been playing for 15 years, wasn't seeing much of a change in handicap, which hovered at 19 last April. So rather than go to an instructor, the 25 year old consulted a bookie. He bet 200 pounds that he could get his handicap to single digets by years end.British oddsmaker William Hill, who will except nearly any wager, gave him 5 to 1 odds.
The chance for financial gain renewed Davies's incentive to work on his game. The practice paid off-literally.By the end of the year,Davies was down to 8.8 handicap at East Horton Golf Club-and up an extra 1,000 pounds in his bank account."

Now I got a question.Does Will Hill really give odds on something like that.It would appear that there could be a lot of "descrepency's" there if you know what in mean.

Not guilty - wish I was 25!
William Hill will take on most wagers - over here if you go to a bookmaker and ask them for odds the major ones will often give you a quote
Most recent example was about 9 years ago (forgive me if the wrong player is named) but a guy in Wales saw a young snooker player aged 15 Williams or Higgins(?)and reckoned he was the best he had ever seen so he placed a wager at 200-1 that he would win the world championship by 2000 and he did - the bloke won about ?70,000
