The Oakland Athletics look to make it eight straight series wins tonight when they play the second of a three-game set against the Detroit Tigers.

Defending AL West Champions Oakland are in first place again this season at 24-14 while Detroit are the worst team in baseball at 8-28 including a brutal 2-13 home mark.

Tim Hudson starts for Oakland tonight and he has won 11 of his last 12 decisions dating back to 2002. The right-hander is 3-1 with a 3.12 ERA this season and his numbers would be even better except for a blown save by closer Keith Foulke. Hudson is 7-2 lifetime against the Tigers with an ERA of 3.44.

The Tigers will start Gary Knotts who comes off his first win of the season which improved his record to 1-3, 4.83 ERA. Tonight will be his first appearance against the A's.

The A's have beaten the Tigers eight straight times in Detroit since the start of the 2001 season and all of those victories have been by two runs or more...in fact they have outscored them 56 runs to just 18 during this stretch.

We rarely recommend the run line but believe tonight's match-up warrants a play at the -1.5.

Recommended Play: Athletics -1.5 -160
