The Houston Astros did not wait long to replace Andy Pettitte.

Four days after Pettitte signed with the New York Yankees, the Astros on Tuesday acquired righthander Jason Jennings from the Colorado Rockies for center fielder Willy Taveras and righthanders Taylor Buckholz and Jason Hirsh.

The 28-year-old Jennings is the Rockies' all-time leader in wins (58), innings (941), starts (156) and shutouts (3). He was 9-13 with a 3.78 ERA for the Rockies last season but suffered from little run support.

Houston also received righthander Miguel Asencio.

A horrible trade.

They get Jennings for one season before he is a free agent, and give up a decent outfielder a young back end of the rotation starter and an absolute young stud pitcher in Hirsh.

Hirsh alone would have been a steal for Colorado.

Shawn is correct. Moreover it means Burke will play in center so they have no outfield defense, and washed up Biggio will play full time at 2nd instead of platoon.
