Thinking about taking ATL ML +180

I don't think that Philly will be able to stop ATL's run game.

vs. Philly

Week #1 NY Giants, Run - 165yds - 2TD's
Week #7 Cleveland, Run - 155 - 3TD's
Week #9 Pittsburgh, Run - 252 - 1TD
Week #12 NY Giants, Run - 161 - 0 TD
Week #16 St. Louis, Run - 209 - 1 TD
Week #17 Cinci, Run - 148 - 4 TD's

Prediction:

NFC Championship Game ATL Run - 185 - 3TD's

Any Thoughts?

Just want to point out something about those stats --- over half of the yards from the first Giants game came from an 80 yard TD run by Tiki Barber when the Eagles were already up 30+, and the last two weeks the Eagles rested the whole team in a less than inspired effort. Off the top of my head I believe the Eagles have averaged giving up less than 100 yards a game rushing since Trotter has been inserted as the starting MLB.

The big question is will Philly be able to sack Vick and keep his ass in check. We all know Vick must be contained for Philly to win.

One other point is will Philly be able to get ahead in the game early?

The Falcons don't play good at catch up when Vick is forced to pass accurately and score.

BM makes a great point. The overall Philly Rush D numbers are totally misleading. Joe Public will check the overall stats and figure Falcs will run all day. Won't happen. Also, Vick & Co. may have a difficult time with the brutal cold.

There was a playoff game not long ago in the snow in Lambeau. The cold didn't affect the Falcons or Vick and they beat Favre who had never been beaten never.

It was a game of nevers.

Eagles were able to contain Daunte Culpepper from scrambling... they will focus on containing Vick as well..;)

The vikes were a bad team with a bunch of primadonnas (like Moss) with an even worse coach - the Falcs are a good team who play like a team and have a coach who is a team guy - they remind me of New England the year they beat St.Louis as a DD dog.

I'm not saying that Atlanta beats the AFC in the Super Bowl, but I think if they can weather the storm in the 1st Quarter; they will give the underachieving Eagles everything they ever wanted and maybe even pull out the SU win.
