OTTAWA (AP)--The last-place Atlanta Thrashers got goals from Pascal Rheaume, Daniel Tjarnqvist and Lubos Bartecko in 67 seconds on their only three shots of the third period to stun the Ottawa Senators 6-3 on Saturday. The injury-riddled Thrashers skated with only five defensemen in the first game of a four-game road swing.
Ottawa outshot Atlanta 17-3 in the third period and 35-23 overall.
Former Thrashers right wing Donald Audette, traded from Dallas to Montreal on Tuesday, will play against his old team for second time in one week.
Monteral Gazette. Montreal Canadiens coach Michel Therrien was happy to see the Atlanta Thrashers do that thrashing thing to the Ottawa Senators on Saturday night. It's a matter of having that game serve as a wake-up call for the Canadiens, who face the Thrashers tonight at the Molson Centre. "Atlanta may be in last place, but you can't take any team lightly in this league."
