My wife and I surprised my daughter, son in law and grandson and took a Southwest Airline to Philly on Friday...for a week..tomorrow or Thursday going to hit Atlantic City for a few hours..who has the best sports book on the boardwalk...want to escape for a few hours from Philly..any ideas.
My daughter got me box seats for Sundays Philly-Rockies game....Harper hits a 2 run homer to dead center to win the game 7-5...I'm saying before the game " he's not worth $ 316 million" until he hits the home run...." then he wins the game for them.." But like any true Philly fan when he strikes out 4 times in the next game he's a bum".

any info on the casino's would be appreciated..thanks

I hit AC about 2 or 3 times a year and have for the last 10 or 12 years. They have made some improvements over the last couple years. Trumps Taj Majal is now the Hard Rock and seems nice, I went last year when they were just opening, very clean, a lot of restaurants but no sportsbook yet during my visit. The sportsbooks were in the early stages of opening when I was there last so many of them were no more than betting windows with a couple big screens, I have heard they have made quite a few upgrades since. I enjoy the Resorts casino which now features a Draftkings sportsbook that from the website looks pretty decent. The Ocean casino had a William Hill book that was under construction during my last visit, looked like it was going to be one of the better books and also had (still might have) a live Vsin broadcast on weekend mornings.

As far as the boardwalk in general, I prefer to stay at Resorts. I like the casino atmosphere/theme with Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville restaurant on site, 5 O'clock somewhere bar, and the Landshark cafe right across the boardwalk with lots of seating inside and out. You can also grab simple things like pizza or sandwiches in a nice little food court inside Resorts. I wouldn't waste your time at Bally's, they are one of the few on the boardwalk that have yet to update the casino or rooms although the connecting Wild wild west part of the casino features a pretty fun atmosphere with gaming and bars. Ceasars is nice, nice scenery and nice restaurants I just don't spend much time there because I never win. All the way down by itself is the Tropicana which is nice. They have maintained a nice casino and now have sportsbook, William Hill I believe. They offer one of the bigger varieties of eating options including a nice buffet, Hooters and a pretty good burger joint if I remember correctly.

I have never been to Vegas but by comparison I don't think AC would measure up. It's definetely what you make of it and like I said I usually go 2 or 3 times a year for a nice little weekend getaway and have no complaints. Enjoy!

Box, I have heard good things about the William Hill book in the Ocean Casino. I just use the online books, mostly PointsBet, but the William Hill book is supposed to be nice.

Could check out the Hard Rock too as that one is brand new and the whole casino is meant to be pretty nice.

Get my email from Jack, I might be able to meet you over there when you go. Only about 15 minutes away.

Also, about Borgata, yeah it is probably one of if not the nicest but it is just by itself in the marsh pretty much. Golden Nugget is across the street but if you are at Borgata you really aren't going anywhere else.

Much better off going to Ocean and having options like Hard Rock, Caesars, Resorts, etc. up and down the boardwalk

yeah SugarHouse has a sportsbook. I use their online site sometimes (they are licensed in NJ online), they have a lot of options. Should probably have same options in the book as they do online, check out their website.

just got back to Philly...went to Ocean Casino..wow what a beautiful hotel...nice sportsbook small but set up nice..made a few plays from there..played my Phillies big today over Cubs ..up 8-3 in the 5th...but our bullpen has trouble holding leads...made a huge prop bet on Florida St over 7.5 wins in college football..Tennesse over 7.Texas over 9.5..and Giants to win the NFC East at 12-1..already have a few prop plays from Vegas back in March
Hard Rock and Resorts also stopped in...you can see these hotel sports books are new and will take some time to catch up...With Pennsylvania having sports places they has to hurt Atlantic City somewhat...
Leaving tomorrow for Austin had a great time here in Philly...I'm only 500 fit bit steps to the Rocky Statue and the Museum...in the Fairmont section of Philly. I get up at 6.00 am and walk to Little Petes and have breakfast...a few years ago a few Philly cops were eating next to me...they asked me if " I was from out of town"..I told them " yes how would you know that" they answered " no one wears a Philly cap in here"...this morning a few cops were eating at the table next to me but I couldn't remember if it was the same guys...but they were watching the Philly hi-lites of last nights game on the TV..but Cubs beat them so things are back to normal...
Last night daughter went to Italian Market a bought fresh Tortellini, gnoggi ,ravioli and pasta....at Tagllotti's ...Wow...having left overs tonite

thanks for info on AC
