No way they're the #2 team in the country.

USC would wipe the floor with them. (as would a few others)

that was a horrible game for the tigers.

first buffalo now this.

Don't know how they beat LSU.

I had the tigers moneyline and was sweating it out until the end.

That is easy go watch the tapes. They got every call in the game and some say it was the worst officiated game they saw in a decade. I guess they didn't have the same refs for this game.

auburn beat lsu because they are a better team than lsu.

give credit to south carolina for rising to the occasion tonight. just because auburn didn't cover the chalk doesn't mean they're overrated. they're a damn good football team that wouldn't be outclassed by anyone on a neutral field. they could def hang with usc or ohio state.

Does USC or Ohio St only get 3 downs

I'm not saying they're bad, I'm just saying they're NOT a #2 caliber team.

I'm not saying they're bad, I'm just saying they're NOT a #2 caliber team.

there are no "great" teams this year

ohio state
auburn
sc

wvu
mich
lsu
texas
oregon
nd

very little difference in any of the teams listed above but the top three are probably slightly better than the rest (but auburn isnt as good as their team 3 years ago, sc isnt as good as last years team and osu might not be as good as they were to end last year)

no standout team/s this year in my opinion

SEC Road games

SEC Road games

Aub is really not overrated. SEC road games are tough, unless you are playing MISS st or OLE MISS. Spurrier is a genius and is starting to get some talent

wow. gjn took the words completely out of my mouth.

usc isnt as good as last years team.
and ohio state definitely isnt as good as last years team. but because there arent any great teams, the rankings are a little skewed this year.

AUBURN is very good. #2 - time will tell. however, the SC running qb may have caught them off guard...

either way, SC almost lost to ND last year but didn't and that is all that matters.

Aub is damn good, but conservative to a fault.

they were certainly not expecting to see what they saw tonight (definitely not the players).

yet they still won on the road - let them be.

imo,it's asking too much for a team to cover by over 2 tds on the road against a conference opponent that is also a good team.i think auburn was lucky to come away with the win.

auburn is a very good team that has a very good running attack....that doesn't play as well on the road as at home. i mentioned in another thread that while auburn had a very good defense last year, they gave up at least 17 points per game in each road game, including the bowl game against wisconsin.

they are a very good team that was, imo over priced.it''s funny how football is, if they would have covered i wouldn't have said the above.

imo,at this time the best all around team in the country is florida.

Tonight was definitely a piss poor showing in terms of defensive game planning by the AU defensive staff. However, keep in mind this was the first time SC has shown this offensive style and that hurt AU. Still AU should have adjusted better than they did.

People have such a short memory... In Southern Cal's 2005 NC year they beat Stanford by 3, Cal by 6, Oregon State by 8 & UCLA by 5...

Now I fully admit AU needs to shore up some things, but let's not forget that lots of "good" teams have had nights like tonight, especially on the road in a conference game.

well said texasAUtiger, people just like to bitch when they lose money, or a team has a close call, like the Top 10 teams should beat any competition anywhere 52-0 or they suck. I just got back from the game, and it was real loud there, and SC has an athletic QB, Auburn has some issues to work out, but my no means are they not a #2 team because they had a close call, Spurrier has won a National Championship before, and it was a road conference game on Thursday night...

Give me a break...
