AUBURN, Ala. -- Auburn sophomore center Kyle Davis, one of the best shot blockers in the nation, is expected to be out four weeks after undergoing surgery on his hyperextended right elbow, the school announced Monday.
Dr. Larry Lemak and Dr. James Andrews performed the surgery at HealthSouth in Birmingham.
Davis is averaging 5.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks despite playing just 21.2 minutes per game. The 6-10 sophomore played in 30 of Auburn's 32 games last season and averaged 4.8 points and 5.9 rebounds.
Auburn had won four straight games before suffering an 83-77 setback to Arkansas on Saturday, the first game without Davis. The 83 points allowed were a season high for an opponent and the Tigers had just two blocked shots.
