Even if Zimbabwe lose this test (which is bound to happen) - It has been a look into the future of Australian cricket and the sight is not too rosy.

As it has been mentioned before on this forum, the main difference bewteen Aust and the rest of the World are McGrath and Warne. These two players are among the top 5 or so bowlers of all time and as a back up Gillespie and MacGill are in the top 20-30. After that the rest is looking bleak.

The newly named Cricket Australia should be worried. They need to realise that the rest of the World is not that far awy from them. Over the last 3-6 months they Aussies have played the 3 worst sides in world cricket and they aren't as dominate as they like to think they are.

NZ, SAF and Eng are closing in - this is all the better for world cricket

England, u.k.
Pumpkin slow down. Australian cricket isn't in bad shape. They have a knack of producng a couple of youngsters at the rght moment. That sad the last two series against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe were ideal opportunities that the selectors chose to ignore.

Gillespie, is a class act and will lead the spear head of the Aussie attack for the next 6 years if he stays healthy and sound. Brett Lee has not progressed as expected, this may be a worry as Bichael is no more than a stock bowler.

South Africa are going to find it hard replacing the majority of their side. They have waited to long to introduce fresh blood and they will pay for it over the next four years.

England are still in their phase of re-building. Theu will have one of the best bowling attacks in world cricket within two years. Jones back from injury, Harmison when he gets his line right, Anderson was playing minor county cricket in the summer of 2002 so his leap has never been heard of before in International cricket.

Sri Lanka and India have their troubles to come over the next four to six years and the West Indies will never be the same as they were in the 70's and 80's. That side was just un-beatable. The windies have tried to re-build but their bowling attack looks so ordinary.

So my advice Pumpkin is relax, put your feet up and watch the baggy greens dominate world cricket for a good few years yet. I am excited about the future of English International cricket but that is a good few years away yet till we see the finished article. Lets hope it's the Ashes down under in 2006/07.
